"They are completely baseless accusations, lacking any real basis. That's how we view them. We've heard this repeatedly," said Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov in response to a request to comment on Jäger's statements that Germany risks being drawn into an armed conflict with Russia, which is waging a shadow war and carrying out hybrid attacks.

"This is, let's say, an informational ploy—the artificial creation of an ephemeral enemy in order to justify the expenditures on militarization that the Federal Republic of Germany is engaged in," Peskov said.
