The use of the words "Quick Exit" on the Lifeline page is... Potentially counterproductive.

I may not go with Ridge, though. I have a Vulkit one I use for my credit cards and ID (and yes, one more Genius Lab Gear card tool), and I like it, aesthetically, with the wood panels. It also has one important feature the Ridge lacks: you can push the cards up from EITHER side.

I had the urge to lay out my "EDC". More accurately, my emotional support tool pouch, so not my phone, iPad, mp3 player, etc. Some might say I have a problem, and I agree. I don't see pliers or a wrench in there.

Hey, there's a reason this was the CGA colour palette of choice.

Also, I have a thing for this I drew ages ago!
A very large official with a clipboard leans on a boulder, as Sisyphus walks down a hill towards him. The Titan says “so uhh… got some bad news from the Big H… Turns out this whole time, you’ve been pushing the wrong rock up the wrong hill. There’s a joke here about futility but look who I’m talking to.”

A HSP. The HSP, or "Halal Snack Pack", is an Australian delicacy developed by our local middle-Eastern community. Mixed doner kebab meat, served on a bed of potato chips (with or without melted cheese, but come on, you're getting cheese), and sauced with chilli, bbq, and garlic sauces.
A photo of a truly heavenly food. A HSP, or Halal Snack Pack. Mixed lamb and chicken doner kebab meat, served on chips, in a styrofoam container. The meat is covered in garlic, chilli and bbq sauces drizzled in a criss-cross pattern. It's unclear in the photo if the chips have melted cheese on them, but you can practically smell the delicious salty goodness radiating from the image.

You, and people like you, taking it one day at a time. Surviving isn't something we do once, we do it every single day, again, and again, and again, and seeing people succeed in doing it when so much is stacked against them in this world warms my heart.

Also, did AI write THIS, too? The passage it compares McCarthy to has WORSE punctuation, like someone said "make sure the punctuation is bad so it looks like McCarthy" to Claude. "AI used to make these mistakes" cunt, it made those mistakes RIGHT FUCKING NOW.

See that's your problem. You're supposed to have a zibaldone, not a bullet journal! The you, too, can write down dumb jokes you think of that other people surely thought of thirty years ago, and quotes from things you're reading, and call it mindfulness!
A photograph of an A6 notebook. On the left page is written "Australian Women's Weekly was a weekly periodical because a women's monthly is something else entirely". Clearly whoever wrote this thinks he's a genius. Please do not call attention to this delusion. On the right page is written a quote from the foreword to Superman: Kingdom Come, "We have an obligation to understand the rammifactions of the things we do, and to choose to do them - or not - with our eyes open" - Elliot S Maggin

I've been orbiting the podcasts for a couple of years thinking "I should listen to those at some point". Well, now's the time. Listening to the MKUltra series at the moment. Richard Chase a couple of days ago (radically out of order. I'll NEVER catch up on the in-jokes!)

Call it an early Christmas present, to all three of my readers. Two of whom might know what this is about. Once again, figures were made by loosely tracing posed 3D models, but I'm using them less slavishly and more of a guide, now.

Emily Vee @noobixcube.bsky.social · 23/12/2025
A quick little comic for today. This time, while I still traced a posed 3D model, this was more like using it as a reference. Quick lines that roughly approximate it, rather than slowly and carefully tracing. Might actually learn some proportions and stuff, this way...

Carved it into two in the hopes it’s treated better by the compression.

So this one is a bit of a longer one. Experimented with a few different textures, with using the gutters as background, and with pacing. It's a long way from a single panel gag.

Emily Vee @noobixcube.bsky.social · 21/12/2025
I had a more ambitious one planned for today, and realising I wouldn't get that done in time, I made this quick one instead. I didn't suddenly become capable of realistic anatomy, by the way. I posed a 3D model and traced it.
A single panel comic showing a woman standing in a blue-grey void. She is saying "So, to cut a long story short, that's why I'm no longer allowed within ten kilometers of an Ikea...". The text box below reads "Repeated detailing the 'Meatball Incident' was fast becoming her least favourite aspect of the job interview process.'"

Experiments and flaws abound. Also, pedantic taxonomy is definitely still in "probably was a @crustaceansingles.com comic" territory.
A single panel comic. The background is done in a rough and blotchy watercolour and charcoals style, while foreground elements are sharp outlined and flat shaded. In a richly appointed sitting room, a pair of foreleg bones hang on a rack above the fireplace. The guy on the left points at it and says "Wow! Is that a real dinosaur bone?", the guy on the right, frowning and sloshing his wine, says "What? No, of course not! Dimetrodon was a Synapsid!".

Apparently that dump truck is so juicy it got labeld as "Adult content"

Einstein, foreground, Tojo, rear. This year has taken both of my boys from me, six months apart. Einstein earlier in the year, from sudden and unexpected illness, Tojo, last weekend, age, cognitive decline, and kidneys… It was time. We expected it soon. Einstein‘s death came out of nowhere, though.

Used to be we had a good thing going on Global. If I wanted to read all of Edens Zero, that’d be US$500, roughly, at $15 a volume For 33 volumes. That’s AU$760. With the generous $3 a volume discount. Needless to say, I’m not buying any of that. It’s more than paperback prices on Amazon right now.

You want to know the last time I even signed into DeviantArt? It was MSN-client icon still being a thing worth making long ago. I didn't publish a lot, but at the time I would make simple wallpapers, and occasionally icons for random things that weren't often part of a Gnome or KDE icon set.

@stjepansejic.bsky.social I finished Sunstone last night, and started Mercy today, and all I can say on reading your foreword is “mmm yes, harder!”
A cropped screenshot from the foreword of Sunstone Mercy. “It won’t compare until the storyline is finished and you can competently see each story for what they are, in stead I ask you to forget, and I hope for you to enjoy. For the book you have in your hands right now is the beginning of a journey, and we have merely exited the front doors. Sunstone’s powerful moments and its ultimate impact came from its subsequent issues. Same is with Mercy. It too will make you laugh, and it will break your hearts over and over again, if you let it”. The words “it will break your hearts over and over again, if you let it” are highlighted.

This might be the trans-est thing I’ve ever read. I can’t be the only one who thought that, reading Ultimate Spider-Man #1, this year, right?
A comic page divided into a classic nine panel layout.
Palin one, Peter looks down silently, his face in shadow.
Panel two, Peter looks to MJ, “… I don’t want to say something and not be able to take it back”
Panel three, MJ, holding glass of red wine, looks at Peter, “Well, that’s just not how any of this works… But I do promise, nothing’s going to change how I feel. About you. Or about us. So…”
Panel four, Peter, not making eye contact, “… I think I need… a change.”
Panel five, MJ “Hey, when I quit to start my own business last year, you were one hundred percent on board. And I mean, sure, we’ve got bills, and kids, and it might be tough… but why would you think for a second I wouldn’t be behind you doing something else?”
Panel six, Peter rubs the back of his neck, “No, MJ, I mean *I* need to *change*.
Panel seven, MJ sets her wine glass down, “Oh.”
Panel eight, low angle shot as MJ meets Peter’s eyes, “That.”
Panel nine, peter, confused, maybe defensive, “What do you mean… ‘that’?”A comic page with panels of varying size and ratio four narrow panels on the top row, one wide panel in the middle, and two panels on the bottom row. The wall decor in the bottom row still divides the row into a hint of the traditional thirds.

Panel one, MJ, cross legged on the couch with her hands in her lap, “I know you, Peter Parker. You’re an amazing husband, and just lights-out as a father”
Panel two, low angle of Peter, meeting MJ’s eyes, MJ, from off panel, “But you’ve been walking around for years with this cloud hanging over you. You put a good face on it, but you’re not satisfied with who you are.
Panel three, Peter and MJ side by side on the couch, MJ, “Do you know what you have to do?”, Peter, “I think so. Yes.”
Panel four, MJ, a serious look on her face, “Are things going to change between us?”
Panel five, wide, occupying the middle row, close up of Peter’s face in the centre, Peter, “Never.”
Panel six, MJ kissing Peter’s forehead, Peter, smiling, MJ, “Well, then…”
Panel seven, MJ, walking away from the couch, looking back to Peter, “… that settles it. I’m going to bed. And you…”A comic page with the first, second, fourth, and fifth rows occupied by single large panels, two panels in the third row.
First panel, close up of MJ’s face in the centre, MJ, “Go get ‘em, Tiger.”
Panel two, a wide shot of Peter alone on the couch, sitting with his thoughts.
Panel three, close up of Peter removing a container from a bag.
Panel four, Peter, outside the apartment, about to head up the stairs to the roof.
Panel five, Peter, alone on the roof, light spills from the doorway behind him. It’s night in New York, cloudy and snowing.
Panel six, A wide shot of Peter, skyscrapers behind him, snow falling, looking at the container in his hand.

Easiest decision I’ve ever made. I lost my cat, earlier this year, and you know the weirdest thing? He loved Mr Stake. He’d sit on the coffee table, eyes glued to the TV, whenever I put on your Soul Silver nuzlocke. Well, maybe he just liked the bright colours. He loved Star Trek, too.

Imagine how much of a cunt you have to be for "anti-transgender activist" to make the first sentence of your Wikipedia article, before listing anything noteworthy in your career.
A screenshot of the first paragraph of this absolutely vile cunt Graham Linehan's Wikipedia entry:

"Graham George Linehan (/ˈlɪnəhæn/; born May 1968)[1][2] is an Irish comedy writer and anti-transgender activist. He created or co-created the sitcoms Father Ted (1995–1998), Black Books (2000–2004), and The IT Crowd (2006–2013), and has written for shows including Count Arthur Strong, Brass Eye and The Fast Show. Early in his career, he partnered with the writer Arthur Mathews. Linehan has won five BAFTA awards, including Best Writer, Comedy, for The IT Crowd in 2014."

Don't watch anything he's worked on on any way that makes him money. Pirate it all, if you must watch it.

I had a Steam account back in 2004, and hadn't used it in years. I straight up forgot the login and didn't have my old email address, a Yahoo one, when I got back to using Steam, so these aren't my "first", but I promise the real first weren't much better.

I asked ChatGPT to give it a go. It kept trying multi-panel comics and couldn't keep straight who was talking, and blending characters from panel to panel, so this was the third attempt. I had it describe it before telling it to run with it. The red box is what it thinks a "red button" joke is.

@plex.tv a real class act, when the privacy changes aren’t a link you can touch, and the “I do not agree” isn’t actually a button and touching it does nothing. Time for Jellyfin. I’d been avoiding doing that, because changing seems like a PITA, and yet here we are.
A screenshot of an absolute mockery of a privacy notice, saying Plex now needs my consent to sell my data, making me wonder if they were doing it before, without consent, or whether this is a new era of monetizing me, a paying customer, further. The URL for the privacy policy is not a link, and the “I do not agree” button is just a pretty picture of a button and does nothing.
