Currently replaying Pokemon Fire Red and hunting for a shiny magikarp. @nokthegoat.bsky.social and I did the math. It takes ~20 seconds per encounter. It will take ~190 hours of fishing just magikarp to have a 95% chance of a shiny appearing at some point. Send help.

I owe a lot of my early understanding of people, relationships, and power to Ursula K. Le Guin. A Wizard of Earthsea (the whole series) and The Left Hand Of Darkness are still some of the best books I've ever read. Honorable mention to Tamara Pierce for making young me appreciate powerful women more

Back on my bullshit, finally had an idea of what to... Draw? Paint? Pixellate?
