I've hopped on over the fence and no longer support capital punishment, although there are most certainly those who deserve it. I agree with Atticus, we do not meet the righteous standards to carry out capital punishment in this country, probably no nation does.

Unprecedented corruption. The worst part is that it's right there for everyone to see. The Republican voters don't seem to care, and the Republican led congress has no will to stop it. I saw someone say politicals had become amoral, but in many cases it's simply immoral.

This Supreme Court allowed Alabama to keep killing people in 2022 after the state repeatedly botched its executions and left inmates on gurneys, cut up by needles. Of all the Roberts Court’s sins, its death penalty rulings have been especially nihilistic.

I realize this is anecdotal, but there's been a noticeable uptick of folks trying to live in storage units in parts of AL and GA. My wife manages units in both states, and it's increasingly an issue. It's terribly sad, and probably not a good indication for the state of the economy.
