The new Resident Evil movie was great, and felt very in-line with the series as a whole. I'm going to be honest people who are saying that "it's not a Resident Evil movie" is such a weird opinion. The arguments people are making are either super nitpicky, or just flat out wrong. Yeah 9/10 for me.

To clear up some misinformation, Games on Demand at PAX East and PAX Unplugged requires every GM to use safety tools. We've been doing so for years and we are not the only group to do so. We take GM volunteers regardless of background. We ran 230 game sessions last Unplugged, and 82 last East.

As a GM, how do you feel about doing teasing scenes that the players aren't there for? Usually to build tension either towards the end or in strategic moments, something I'll showcase a secret conversation between NPCs or showing the end of a combat that players aren't there for.

My goal for 2026 ontop of my design goals and releasing Eldritch Automata is to get back into actual plays. Splitting between edited actual play sessions and GM videosw here you see how I would prepare before. I'll be putting out a recruitment form soon and start looking for a channel to host it.

My home table did their session 0 of Daggerheart using Demiplane and we must have talked for almost 6 hours straight doing character creation. They had so much fun and really had a great band of characters going.

I don't know how anyone can look at the Critical Role situation and not see how this knocks a lot of wind out of Daggerheart's sails. Just reflects a lack of confidence in your own product. It's really disappointing to see this one singular game continue to dominate every aspect of this industry.

I met so many people and had some excellent one on one conversations with old friends and new. Not just about "what we can do for each other" but like game design, film theory, and just a love of creative outlets. I don't know what the future holds but I'm a game designer and I'm here to stay.

I will have to run it but Daggerheart might be the fantasy contender I was looking for. Distinct enough from D&D will taking inspirations from 4e with alot of awesome character creation and a inherent balancing built in the rules and action economy. Really good stuff from what I'm reading.
