My Q on the Overnight Visitor Levy. I've always maintained that, should @cornwallcouncil.bsky.social choose to raise a levy, businesses in the local visitor economy should have a say in where proceeds are invested, to support the public goods which they & the communities they operate in rely upon.

I'm delighted that, under Andy Burnham's premiership, the conversation on public ownership of the water industry has fundamentally shifted. There are still trade-offs, but there is much work going on to devise a credible plan to take back control of our water. My speech in Westminster Hall today.

Delighted our Social Housing Bill passed its Second Reading this week. At its heart are radical reforms to the Right to Buy to protect precious social rented homes and incentivise the building of more of them. The Bill also gives greater protections to tenants who are victims of domestic abuse.

Lack of affordable transport can be a significant barrier to entering the workplace for disabled people. Currently, bus passes don't work on weekdays before 9.30, often when people need them most, making it unnecessarily harder for disabled people to get to work. Labour is changing that.
