oh hey, that's me (tan skin, black hair and eyes, headphones). i'm looking head-on at the camera, kinda centered but low in the frame. there is a white blanket hanging behind me on the left side of the image and fabric room divider without a blanket on the right side. A gray blanket is draped haphazardly over the whole thing, creating a "ceiling" that droops slightly on the top left. I don't know if I'm making much a facial expression here, but it's meant to be a bit of a "what am i doing with my life. how have circumstances led me here" vibe.

just a few character explorations for a new story idea i had. i haven't decided on gender for many of them so i've made longer/shorter hair variants for most of em

13 sketched heads based on a common base lined up in two rows (one row of seven on top, another of six on the bottom; each of the ones on the bottom row are directly under one from the top and have nearly the same design but with longer hair, except for the third head on the top which has no corresponding head on the bottom). The first column of heads have a messy, angular hairstyle. The second have symmetrical middle parts and half-lidded eyes with eye bags. The third (the one without a corresponding long-hair variant) has a squarish shape to their hair with hair dipping down into their face, bloodshot eyes, and some beard hair. The fourth column of heads have curly, fluffy hair. The fifth have neat hair with a curly quaffy bit in the front, and droopy eyes with eyelashes (the longer hair variant has a ponytail). The sixth have short hair (shaved and lined up for the shorter variant, more of a pixie cut for the longer variant) and dark sunglasses. The seventh have high and tight haircuts with two spikes pointing down and shaved sides, eyepatches over their left eyes and right eyes that have Seen Things, and three scars on their jaws (the longer hair variant also has a messy bun and unshaved sideburns).

I think to be human is to have that drive to create, to make yourself known, to live so vicariously that you can't leave this world without having put something into it. That we live under a system prioritizing abstract numbers over fostering and safeguarding that aspect of humanity sickens me.

I looked him up when I got home. He doesn't have a presence online, but the sparse info I could find -- dated 2019, then 2003, then 1996 -- suggests he's been doing this for at least 30 years. Unclear whether he's homeless, but regardless, this seems like his main source of income.
