The quality of the water is important in an aquaponic system. Some parameters to monitor include: Dissolved oxygen (DO), TAN, pH, water hardness, and alkalinity. These water quality parameters should be monitored closely and be maintained at certain levels for the best performance of the system.

Want to take better care of your Bermudagrass lawn? Here’s everything you need to know! #grass #lawncare
At the top is an image of a grass field with a smaller, circular image of grass blades overlaid. Underneath, the title in white text on a green background says “Taking Care of Bermudagrass”. Underneath is paragraph text to the left and a white box with green lettering on the right. The paragraph text says “Why Bermudagrass? This is one of the best turfgrasses for the Southwest at lower elevations. It loves the warm climate and being in full sun. And with so many varieties to choose from, you’ll be sure to find one you like!”. The white box says “Popular Varieties” with a checklist of four “TifTuf (Drought Tolerant Hybrid), Monaco (High-density Seeded), Yukon (Cold Tolerant Seeded), Tahoma 31 (Durable Hybrid)”. At the bottom of the graphic is large white text saying “Common FAQs on Next Page”a graphic with a green background, two small circular images (one of a sprinkler in grass and the other of a lawnmower mowing grass), and four paragraphs of white text. From top to bottom the paragraphs read “Why is my grass brown? Bermudagrass goes dormant (not dead) in the winter and turns brown. If it doesn’t get enough water in the summer it goes brown, but it’s not dead! It’ll turn green when watered again. This can even be used to save water!
How much should I water? Water enough to keep moisture in the soil 6 inches deep. That’s usually 2 inches of water per week in the summer. How much should I mow? Keep at least ¾ to 1 inch of height, even in the winter. What should I fertilize with? Choose a fertilizer based on a soil test. Nitrogen percentage should be high in the Spring and Summer. Fertilizer rates should be cut in half in the Fall and focus more on potassium.
