Science is political. It wouldn't necessarily have to be partisan. But when one party is opposed to science-based policy, scientists have a choice between saying "you're right, thoughts and prayers are probably as effective as reducing carbon emissions" or saying "fuck that."

Unmarried people may be about 80% more likely to have depressive symptoms than those who are married, suggests an analysis of more than 100,000 individuals across 7 countries, published in Nature Human Behaviour. go.nature.com/3ADr1EJ 🧪
This is figure 2, which shows that unmarried individuals have a significantly higher risk of depressive symptoms than their married counterparts (all P < 0.01).
