I was honored to endorse Stray Bullet, a collection of 8 poems by Marah Al-Khatib. Buy it and spread the word about this wonderful initiative to support writers in Gaza from Costal Lines Press www.coastallinespress.com/p/stray-bullet
Illustrated cover of *Stray Bullet* by Marah Al-Khatib, showing a patterned dress-like form with small red and blue details, suspended by crossed rods, with the title printed below.

Al-Khatib’s ‘Stray Bullet’ is a haunting lyric sequence written in the charged space between love and loss. These poems refuse the separation of private feeling from historical catastrophe. Al-Khatib’s language is raw, dreamlike, and piercing; it moves between tenderness and devastation with remarkable intensity. This zine is the work of a young poet transforming unbearable experience into a lasting literary monument.”

“My Jewishness demands that I honor my ancestors and the only way I know to do that is to oppose war, violence and injustice and fight for ‘never again for anyone’,” Marianne Hirsch, a scholar of antisemitism and the daughter of Holocaust survivors, wrote in her claim. She cited the Jewish principle of tikkun olam, or repairing the world, as a reason for her speaking out. “When the only acceptable way to be Jewish is to support Israel unconditionally, there is no longer a way for me to be Jewish on Columbia’s campus.”

Our Aim: Our goal is to rethink how knowledge about Palestine is produced and shared. We aim to move beyond framing Palestine as merely a 'conflict' or 'laboratory' and instead highlight the lived realities of colonial violence and media complicity. By centering anti-colonial thinkers like Edward Said, Aime Cesaire, Fanon, and Sherene Seikaly, we seek to reveal which facts are communicated, and which are silenced. Ultimately, we encourage scholars to rethink methods in understanding and representing Palestine.
