Do you know if he takes any supplements or anything with food? I’ve heard some ppl swear by ox bile and such.

Jess Castillo @nimi.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

That’s so encouraging! Currently I’m a month out and it’s like playing a game every time I eat of will it or won’t it make me terribly sorry. The internet is only full of horror stories so it’s nice to know this isn’t the new norm. And yeah anything even remotely fatty is a hard no.

Someone who has also had their gallbladder removed and had it rough af with food for the first month, please tell me this gets better and my digestive system will stop bullying me any time I even look sideways at food.

As I understand it, marketing is its own cost center and is not covered by our current unions. They would need to organize, and have not done so yet.

Microsoft makes basically infinite money and Xbox as a division is a rounding error for them. They don't have to close studios and lay people off because they're short on cash and have to make hard calls, so don't buy this "woe is us" sob story. It is a choice. They are *choosing* to do this.

losing my mind at the "she should have followed directions" people really? really? you're cool with "if you don't follow directions, they get to kill you"? that seems like a good state of affairs to you? that seems like how law enforcement ought to work: instant obeisance or death?

I did my last few by running Emerald Nightmare and Nighthold, there are constantly groups for it right now where high vers ppl will carry you and it goes SO quick. Much faster than leveling, unless you just prefer that way.

Here's to hoping that I remember how to do my job, because my subteam is going straight into overtime tomorrow when we all get back. Happy New Year, I guess.

Yeah I want someone else to make it so I can try it, I have no desire to make it myself. Gonna skip the almonds though 100%.

010

Jess Castillo @nimi.bsky.social · 03/01/2026

There are so many recipes calling it "California" that have all those things. I admit I'm not well-versed in chili bc I've only ever made it one way, but the addition of those things in all the recipes makes me wonder what it tastes like. The almonds threw me hard lol

Jess Castillo @nimi.bsky.social · 03/01/2026

A close friend asked me if my chili was California or Texas chili. I said Texas bc it's my Papa's recipe and he's from Texas, but I got curious what California chili is. So far I've learned that it's got celery, ginger, red wine vinegar, and I'm convinced this is a troll:

A screenclip of a part of a chili recipe calling for one and a half cups sliced almonds as a garnish.

Same, I've turned off every notification that could ever exist lol

010

Jess Castillo @nimi.bsky.social · 22/12/2025

Oh man that would be great. As it is, when you message someone on Slack who has their notifications paused you get the "are you sure you wanna send this message?" prompt but apparently that's not enough for some people, and I think it's only once per day as well.

We have Slack AND Teams, double whammy lol

100

Jess Castillo @nimi.bsky.social · 22/12/2025

Is there a Christmas ghost of "You can see my Slack status says I'm out, I told you in Slack when I'd be out and pinned that message, I also emailed you when I'd be out, so why are you asking me questions about time sensitive things when I'm out" that can visit people? Asking for a friend.

A pudding cup and a glass of red wine is a fine snack.

My Oura frequently lies to me about my stress levels. Sometimes I wonder if I'm so frequently super stressed that it doesn't know how to accurately track it anymore, lol.

If it’s Botox for migraines, that helped me so much. It also wasn’t enough that I was expressionless, which I was worried about.

I've been reminded of previous shenanigans in my life, so I'd like to update this with the statement: Food is not a POLITICAL weapon.

252

Jess Castillo @nimi.bsky.social · 25/10/2025

Food is not a weapon. I don’t care who you are, if you’re hungry I will make you a meal. For reasons we don’t need to go into, believe me when I say I know hunger. People don’t deserve to wonder where their next meal will come from or if it will come at all. Food is not a weapon.

The result has been a lot of bloodwork, finding out I’m prediabetic, also finding out my insurance won’t cover the meds, and not being able to afford them myself lol. Once I’m actually diabetic they will though. Kinda fucked honestly.
