So yesterday I learned about Ava Cordero, a transgender woman who, in 2007, sued Jeffrey Epstein alleging he sexually abused her when she was 16. Her lawsuit was filed in 2007 while Epstein was negotiating a plea deal in Florida for abusing other girls, but her claims were mocked and dismissed

WOW. A lawyer told @miamiherald.com that a Florida Highway Patrol agent told her that they are calling Border Patrol to investigate anyone who "appears Hispanic" that they pull over. That is direct evidence of racial profiling — said over the phone to a lawyer! They aren't even hiding it!

Magdalena Cuprys says she has three clients at the state facility. In the case of one of her clients – a Honduran man with a pending asylum application as a victim of human trafficking — Cuprys said she was able to land a bond hearing. But she remains puzzled by his detention. She said her client was originally held at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection building in Dania Beach for about a week after he was stopped at a truck weigh station by Florida Highway Patrol officers on June 25. He has a valid drivers’ license, Cuprys said. She still doesn’t know why he was detained that day. The Honduran man called her when he was stopped and an FHP officer took the phone and told her that anyone who “appears Hispanic” needs to be sent to CBP to have their license verified, she said. Cuprys didn’t name her client publicly, but the Herald/Times was able to independently confirm he is a detainee at the facility.

One reason for this is that the Florida Highway Patrol is doing the stuff Border Patrol is doing in LA. The Washington Examiner's immigration reporter did a ride-along with them and, well, basically described what are quite obviously extremely pretextual stops for immigration enforcement purposes.

Next: A large truck delivering plants was pulled over for what the officer suspected was too dark a tint. That showed not to be the case, but while stopped, the 3 men in the backseat disobeyed orders to stay inside so the officer detained them, then asked for ID. That's when their lack of immigration status came out.

We drove by the truck after (see video to see windows).

Next: A Florida trooper stopped a dump truck after he observed a passenger was not wearing a seat belt and the truck’s cover was not pulled across to prevent its load from spilling out.

Passenger had a DUI conviction and been deported. The driver did not to have a license and had lost his privilege to operate a vehicle.
