The inherent density of it makes pitching to development schemes a real wild ride - "Give me the plot of your show, you have 300 words, we're interested in character-led drama, no sitcoms"

I've been starting on the bits of this animation I've been dreading, like having doors open and shut. This one gets kicked open and it's actually been fun getting a bit cartoony with the motion of it after working on making quite a muted environment.
Screenshot of Aseprite, the pixel art programme. The picture being edited is of a corner of a classroom. There is a metal and wood desk, windows and a dark blue door. The floor is a mid blue tone and the walls are a vague pastel. This is one of several frames in an animation sequence, tagged as "Main Door". The others are "Store" and "Store Kick Shut"Another frame of Aseprite animation in close-up, showing the blue door buckling and starting to come open as if struck with force.

It's not been good, but I've had good news - I'll be finally getting help for PTSD, and I've spent the past week arranging appointments and referrals after being in a big slump this year. I hope everyone else gets a second wind like that.

My big ones are 90s adventure games, writing, music tech and animation. I've been combining them by working on an animated pilot about autism that uses pixel art, which might be the most autistic thing I've done to date and just leads to more and more specific things to hyperfixate on

Enjoyed my trip to Dublin, with the exception of the bit of the Irish emigration museum that said "some Irish people went abroad to do missionary work, and isn't that nice :)"

Brian Eno must get so sad going through an airport and hearing pop music playing in the shops. Did he toil for naught?

Oh hey, a character with the same last name as me got awards for coping really well as a kid and then kinda crashed out. Nope, don't have any feelings about this whatsoever.

Did a redraft of a script to properly seed the themes throughout, then added a bunch more sad moments because I like torturing myself

I really hope there's no significant news today, or the brief moment of darkness later today will feel like a really clunky metaphor, and I'm tired of living through those.

I have just had the worst autism experience (having to do the washing up when the sink has become full of soggy mealworms) so now I'm having a much better one (listening to this show, which can be done without gloves, scourer and opening every window to get rid of The Smell)

Spotted two familiar-ish faces in Manchester #nitw
Two pieces of graffiti on the corner of a building in Manchester UK: 1. A drawing of Mae and Gregg from Night In The Woods, captioned "Crimes". Gregg is a little off-model and looks more menacing than in the game. Mae is closer to the game's style but lacks her nightmare eyes. 2: the words "Nuke Possum Springs" with the final S trailing off in the same way as in the game.

Been a wobbly month but I've started the day with sausage, eggy bread and watching a Stewart Lee show and later I get to go to a Fishmonger. Everyone should get to go to a monger of some description, it makes any day better.

Basically right - the Greens aren't new but were behind the Lib-Dems (socially liberal, economically a coalition of social democrats and market liberals) as the progressive minor party option until the new leader set out their stall as being a home for ex-Labour voters.

There were a lot of old sci-fi novels in my house growing up, and I'd always wished I could explore the lavish, bizarre landscapes I saw on the covers. I think this might do the trick.

If this is anything like their last game, this is something that will linger in the mind long after the credits roll. If On A Winter's Night Four Travellers was a dark, ornately crafted treat. Can't wait for this one.

Very true, based on two things I have done in the past year that have immeasurably improved my wellbeing: 1. Painting a wall in my house with blackboard paint for drawing silly drawings whenever I want 2. Inviting friends over to play around with arts and crafts stuff regularly

Made the mistake of trying to leave the house this weekend. I had to admit defeat and go home instead of going to the cinema. When it's too hot to sit in a dark room with a fan on, that's when you know it's bad.

there should be a consumer electronics review site called does it beep dot com and the sole criteria it uses to judge kitchen appliances, cars, washing machines, etc is whether it beeps at you and if so how annoying the beeps are
