If I am nothing else, I am at least (through and through) a Schellingian. Schelling's philosophy is the single engine of my beating heart, and his constant search for truth is an endeavor I have devoted my life to. I am bound to no system but only led where philosophy directs me. #Schellingian

Thoughts on Erik Satie. Erik Satie was not just a composer, pianist or musician. He was an artist of sound that could utilize, repetition and dissonance, producing tones that crash together like magnificent waves. Each piece of music was not an ordinary mundane song, but a life that 1/3

The ending of Karoline von Günderrode’s poem “Once I Lived Sweet Life,” which some claim includes a feminist answer to the Kantian & Romantic sublime. Translated with its own introduction in “Karoline von Günderrode: Philosophical Writings” available from OUP here: academic.oup.com/book/62113
An image of “Dark Sun, from Splendor Solis” (c.16th century), Anon. In a panel at left is written:
“Then it seemed as if I had sprung
from the deepest life of the mother,
and had tumbled
in the spaces of the ether,
an errant child.
I had to weep,
flowing in tears
I sank down to the
womb of the mother.
Colored calyxes
of perfumed flowers
caught the tears,
and I penetrated them,
all the calyxes,
trickled downwards
down through the flowers,
deeper and deeper,
down to the womb
of the enclosed
source of life.”

Gerda Walther was a brilliant phenomenologist who was interested in Marxism and socialism. She grew up surrounded by a family friend (Karl Kautsky) who discussed Marx to her at an early age. She studied Phenomenology under Alexander Pfänder, and Edmund Husserl.
