not to mention a significant group of physicists, whose names are largely still unknown other than Lawrence Krauss. I do know a couple that should be talked about, but it's tricky because they aren't public knowledge and I'm not gonna be the one to break that news.

Maybe the invasion of Minnesota and the murder of Americans by their government was meant to distract us from the fact that the president is all over the Epstein files and has been accused of raping children.

Maps of temperature departures averaged over the last month (left), 3 months (center), and 12 months (right) across the #Arctic... Data from doi.org/10.24381/cds...
Three orthographic maps showing 2-m air temperature anomalies in December 2025, October 2025 to December 2025, and January 2025 to December 2025 in the Arctic region. Red shading is shown for warmer anomalies, and blue shading is shown for colder anomalies. Most areas are warmer than average. The mean temperature anomaly for each map is also displayed. Anomalies are calculated relative to a 1981-2010 baseline.

Is it just me, or has the ask to re-review a paper become near automatic. I don’t remember it being this way 20 years ago. If major revisions are required, sure, send it back. But if the paper was near publishable on first submission, why send it back? Can’t the AE just look at the review responses?

Not sure if anyone needs to hear this, but I realized that in trying to be as flexible as possible I was often doing more than I needed to support and accommodate others, at the cost of my own well being. Ignoring my own needs/accommodations is only burning me out. No more

The sun coming up over the Thompson River, in the Interior of British Columbia. The sky is cloudy, and there are snow covered mountains and trees in the distance. There’s ice floating in the river, and along the shore. There’s a reflection of the sunrise on the water.

It's a buckle down, turn on some Chappell Roan, and measure some rivers kind of morning. This looks like a normal meander cutoff, right? Wrong! The channel that lost flow (left side of image) is expanding again, just a few years after what I thought was a full avulsion. What's the culprit? Wood?
A map view of a false-color aerial image of a river flowing towards the bottom of the image. The river is split into two channels, one of which is jammed up with lots of logs.
