Husband is shivering and not looking great at all. We get told 'that's not life threatening,' and whilst I appreciate his head isn't half hanging off, I'm just wondering if I need to seek a second opinion or another hospital or I just don't know. 😔

bandage covering a deep hole with bone exposed and co codamol...he's in quite a lot of pain. I know the NHS is in a mess but surgeon at large hospital didn't even look at his wound and wasn't going to read the notes until I made him. I'm really worried of the consequences of this, feel fobbed off

Need some advice. My husband almost sliced his finger off today, severed tendons, cut artery and exposed bone. Went to small local hospital who said must be surgically repaired today. Sent to larger specialist hospital, waited hours told to come back tomorrow, then delayed until Friday. Just a ...

We run a small catering business and we either accept our own profits getting squeezed again or we put our own prices up and put off our customers. The cooking chocolate we use for our brownies was 49p a bar in Tesco, they put it up to £1 before Xmas then reduced it to 70p after!! Insane mark ups!

There's always been a certain loyalty to a 'team' as such...My family always voted Labour for example but some of it is now cult like and that's scary. I see this happening here in the UK and the states in particular.

I'd really like to but we run a business page on Facebook and also need to keep in contact with local area groups for marketing or networking. Any ideas on how to get round that? I'm less bothered about social contacts as I talk to and see the people I want to have in my life.

This was me. I spoke to 111 a few times and I bought an Oximeter to keep an eye on my oxygen. It did used to dip but would then pop up again which I found reassuring. But the whole thing was so scary.

Weirdly, I cannot eat cucumber since having COVID...they all taste rotten. It's such a weird thing. My sense of smell isn't as strong as it was but mostly returned.

I just had a CT yesterday as they think I have lung damage from my latest bout of Pneumonia (not started by Covid this time but Flu) but I feel the damage is cumulative since I had that first bout of Covid. Steroid inhaler here too. I'm so sorry your damage is permanent.

Yes, I've not included Long Covid in my analogy despite struggling with it myself for about 8 months...I was lucky in that it pretty much cleared after that but every respiratory virus I've had since knocks me on my back, this latest one for weeks...I'm guessing that may be linked in some way.

I've not factored in age or co morbidities in my simple analogy...you're right. Limited characters limit full explanations. But, despite more chance of getting 5/6 bullet if elderly or comorbid, there are still healthy people with that risk. My COPD dad with Cancer in his 70s breezed through it...

Thank you. I'd been in close contact (husband) with an earlier strain and not even caught it (I'd had one vaccine then) I thought I was one of the lucky immune/asymptomatic ones but not once did I deny vaccination or underestimate this virus and always masked. The greater good is important here.

I also know people with debilitating Long Covid. Thing is, statistics show vaccines have globally made a difference. What happened to you anecdotally means you were lucky. Instead of making us unlucky ones or the relatives of very unlucky ones feel bad, perhaps sympathise and stop denying science.

I'm a 47yr old teacher 1st caught COVID in Delta wave. Due 2nd vaccine & narrowly avoided hosp. My 25 yr old, fit healthy unvaxxed cover teacher caught it was v sick, her unvaxxed husband went to ICU, his unvaxxed friend on ventilator. Anecdotal but true -Anti vaxers refuse to believe my account.

I'm awaiting an urgent CT scan on my lungs. All started with something respiratory (not COVID) but now developed into pneumonia and they also suspect clots. I've not heard anything for 3 days so not sure what timescale urgent is. 😬
