Forget AI, after 21 major versions of Adobe InDesign, we still can't have a referenced footnote set in a non-threaded frame. Does my head in.

That might be the ultimate combo! I think walking helped strengthen the muscles around the lower back. Back pain is horrible.

For me, with flat feet, no, but you maybe a different case! I've found 45min of walking a day, coupled with a quality chair make the biggest differences to lower back pain. It took me about 5 chairs to find one that suited (for me, the 'Steelcase Gesture' worked).

I'm not a fan of email in the browser, I much prefer a mail client. Because I'm now old. After an eon using Airmail on MacOS, a 400% price hike and the increasingly buggy perf moved me on to emClient. Wow, so much faster! It took me several hours to customise the UI mind you. www.emclient.com

You’ve parked on the drainage channel? My neighbour kept doing that and now it has come loose, tripping up both the postie and the Amazon driver on a daily basis. A very silly thing indeed.

Despite checking boxes, confirming cancelation and declining offers begging him to stay, my father has to speak to Ionos on the phone before they will cancel his sub-par email service. Funny they don't insist on a phone call to sign up 😒

Interesting idea, but my word - talk about adding cognitive load! Speaking as someone with with a colour deficiency, I'd much rather designers used form rather than colour to differentiate information.

Lots of investors will ultimately loose a lot of money when the bubble bursts. The ‘valuations’ are bonkers, because there isn’t enough actual value.

That’s about the sum of it! I reported some conversions to a client recently that came from ChatGPT. Their first question was ‘what did they ask?’, there second was ‘how do we update what ChatGPT says about us?’. Erm…. Well, Hmmm, shall we just take the win and not worry about the rest😬

Folks, you don't need AI to check color contrasts. You also don't need AI, to get suggestions for colors that pass the contrast ratio. It's pure, good, old math formula. Not everything needs to be "AI". Also, here are many, color contrast tools and more to help you build accessible color palettes:

About right. Credit: #stellaandlarry via #Instagram
Side-by-side meme of a black Labrador sitting against a white background. The left panel is titled “Reality” and says, “I chased a squirrel.” The right panel is titled “LinkedIn” and shows the same dog with a long, exaggerated corporate-style caption about “executing a rapid-response squirrel displacement strategy,” thanking family and stakeholders, and looking forward to “scaling this impact.”

Got to justify the inflated salaries and egos somehow😆 I favour the ‘do it in the way future-me won’t be cranky about’ approach.

Last year it was made very clear that key WordPress properties were the personal assets of its co-founder, to manage as they please. What structural changes are being introduced to ensure a community that values empathy, trust, safety and accountability can be reestablished?

CSS Tip If you want to hide an element that has no children, it's tempting to reach for :empty. However, :empty doesn't work how you'd expect if there's white space or text nodes inside the element. Instead, use this: .your-element:not(:has(:first-child)) { display: none; }

Flexbox Labs is a visual tool that helps you create layouts using CSS Flexbox. I like such sandbox tools where you can play around without writing code. I think it’s important for designers to at least understand what flexbox can do. flexboxlabs.netlify.app/
Screenshot of the tool, showing an area on the right, with numbered boxes (1 to 3), options to add, duplicate, remove them, and some flexbox properties on the left to control those on container and itmes (display flex, flex direction, etc).

Oof. You have my sympathies. £170 for a keyboard which is glued together is obscene. If I saturate it with isopropyl alcohol, it starts working correctly... but I fear this isn't a realistic long-term solution 🤣

I haven't tried Cursor yet, but have used Claude 3.5 Sonnet in Windsurf to help build a few WP plugins. I echo what you and @nickdiego.com say; a substantial 'global rules' file makes a *massive* difference, as does a highly detailed initial prompt. From there on, it's remarkably productive.

From the perspective of Brit, it's shocking watching the goings-on in the US. Is the strategy just to burn down much of what made America great? It makes no sense. I dearly hope it's the wakeup call we need as Europeans.
