Had to do a repair on my Roomba and I'm kind of shocked how easy they make it. 5 phillips screws to remove the cover, every electromechanical thing is a module that takes 2 screws to remove, no cables to unplug. All captive screws too!

I love how my flying club's maintenance team sends post-mortem emails about issues I report

"Resolution: We have been monitoring this since this squawk came in, but after all of our testing we could not find a clear cause. However, one of the annunciators finally came on so we replaced that vacuum pump and it fixed the issue. Strangely, the pump was still working, but was so worn it was just not pushing enough air to create a good vacuum. Usually when a vacuum pump fails it completely breaks inside. We have never before seen what happened with this one."

First Electronics Flea Market of the year! It's amazing how you find stuff you didn't know you needed until you ask about them. Picked up this HP retail display for 5 bux, and a piece of Netgear history.

A 2x20 character display which usually shows the scanned item and price at a cash register, but it says "What up, nerds?" instead

Flew my first cross-country flight as a student pilot yesterday! San Carlos to Paso Robles, CA. Felt like my first "real" flight with all the planning and navigation involved. #flying #aviation

A Cessna 172S high-wing airplane sitting on the ramp at San Carlos. The San Fransciso east bay hills are far in the background. There are high clouds, which are orange from the rising sun.

View from the pilot's seat, at 3500 feet with a view over Silicon Valley. The mountains on the east side of the valley are snow-capped from the cold weather precipitation in the past week.

Pinnacles National Park from 5500 feet. The mountains are sharp, jagged rocks which stick up from the surrounding terrain.
