After recording the latest ep of the 100 Guitarists pod (w @jasonshadrick.bsky.social), I’ve been thinking a lot about Sonny Sharrock’s Ask the Ages and how great those songs are! Here’s a six-guitar arrangement of “As We Used to Sing.” Go check out the episode wherever you find your podcasts.

From a ‘93 Kurt Cobain interview with Fender Frontline comes this excellent answer: What comes to mind for you when it’s time for the guitar to cut loose? KURDT: Less than you could ever imagine.

Super tight big riff with direct-to-interface fuzz pedal tones, unison vibes with guitar, bass, and drum machine. Crunchy! . . . #fuzzpedal #baritoneguitar #jazzmaster #drummachine #elektron #modelsamples #recording #guitarist

Last year, I released Moon Pulses on @islandhouserecs.bsky.social, my ode to ambient guitar, and I’ve broken out my Boss Slicer to head back to space. If you’re in Philly, I’ll be doing this live for the first time this Sunday at Dahlak with Dave McDonnell’s Fifth World and KooF I.B.

Help me out: Tomorrow, we’ll be recording a new episode of 100 Guitarists, and I have to convince @jasonshadrick.bsky.social that Peter Buck is one of the 100 guitar players we all need to know. I feel like I’ve got this, but I could use everything you’ve got. (319) 423-9734

Susan Alcorn’s music was so truly beautiful and so deserved celebration, and it really saddens me that I’m celebrating her playing today because she passed away. As long as I’ve seen her perform, and in every situation, Susan sprinkled magic and wonder.

I like getting the glitchiest sounds I can while keeping the ideas simple. Jittery drums, fuzz baritone guitar, and Tensor-soaked whammy bar. Big Red Panda vibes here: I used a Tensor for the lead guitar, and a Bitmap and Raster 2 on the drum machine. #elektron #danelectro #jaz
