Germany has since 2024 returned over 200 Afghani criminals. Amnesty Intl says only 1 person was regretably killed after return. Germany now assesses the security situation as 'improved' and an Afghan Consulate has opened. They can also expel non-criminal failed aylum applicants - one so far. UK N.B.

Once Russia (USSR) had to buy wheat from US. In 2022 'The Economist' reported on a survey in 2020 that predicted climate change would improve yields of wheat in N & W Russia, while reducing wheat (& possibly maize) yields in US. This has happened. Now Russia is now a top wheat exporter alongside US.

It's a risky process as vessels, reactors and pipework cool and contract and restarting is not always possible. Why is he doing this? What's he after?

UK FPtP voting started with a binary choice, Whigs or Tories. Then came Labour & the choice was Cons, Libs or Lab - in coalitions for 40 yrs. Then Libs failed - so back to binary choice, now between Cons & Lab. Today with 4 parties, 1 could form a gov with <30% of the vote. We MUST change from FPtP!

A new Synchronous Condenser went live in August 2026 at the Pembroke Net Zero Centre in S Wales. It is the first of 16 new electricity grid stabilisation projects for the National Energy System Operator (NESO). It replaces the physical rotational inertia of obsolete plant with dedicated stability.

UK electricity generation currently (noon, 25/09/25) running with: 20% fossil (gas); 44% renewables (solar,wind, hydro); 12% nuclear; 9% biomass; 15% imports from Europe. Overall price just now is 13 pence per kWH Just saying.

"Moderation in all things" is usually a good maxim. But the pursuit of fads doesn't always lead to the pursuit of happiness. e.g. diets. Vegans cut out ALL meat as being unsustainable, so for $2b cell culture meat was developed. Alas, in 2023 it was shown this INCREASED CO2 emissions by up to x25!

UK ought to be more positive about its progress in reducing CO2 emissions from electricity generation. Last week fossil fuels accounted for only 18.7% of generation. Solar/Wind/Hydro were at 62.2% Nuclear 11.7% Biomass 7.4% Externally we sent 3.9% to Ireland & Belgium & imported 4.2% from N, F & DK.

Last year the Home Office (Guardian 4/7/25) admitted that it didn't know details or whereabouts of an estimated 200,000 people who've lived in UK legally for decades. Immigration records are being digitised, so some people may be missed and become "undocumented". Might Reform deny Dadaji NHS access?

Munchetty was right to seek clarification of Kemi Badenoch's suggestion that people "living in areas that are quite expensive" should be ineligible for the full housing benefit element in Universal Credit, or even ANY housing benefit. The benefit was related to the Broad Rental Market Area averages.

We have a little over 4,600 GW of fossil fuel power plant capacity now running. If we could install solar with batteries at $50,000 per megawatt, which is doable imo, then we could curtail the use of all those fossil fueled power plants by over 75% for only $230 billion. I think we should do that.

And I'm old enough to know that in 1953, US & UK forced out the liberal PM of Iran, Mossadegh, after which the Shah ruled as an increasingly brutal autocrat - until the revolution of 1979 brought in the brutal Islamic republic led by Ruhollah Khomeini. Thus the US/UK 1953 coup led to today's mess.

Locomotive 822 'The Earl' was built by Beyer Peacock Ltd at Gorton Foundry, Manchester, and delivered to the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway (Rheilffordd y Trallwng a Llanfair Caereinion) in 1902. 124 years later it is still in operation on the now-preserved line.

"Care/Harm Fairness/Cheating Liberty/Oppression Loyalty/Betrayal Authority/Subversion Sanctity/Degradation" Libs stress 1, 2 & 3. Cons stress 4, 5 & 6, but not exclusively, & this gives them a political edge.
