Do you score it if you’ve ever heard a song by the band, or do you only count it if it’s a band w/ at least one song you listen to semi-regularly?

As a test, my manager tried asking it to tell her how many meetings she had scheduled in the next two weeks. It told her she had zero meetings upcoming. She has at least 15 publicly visible on her Teams calendar.

I was in an “Intro to Agents” meeting earlier today. Every example of ways to use an Agent they offered was, “you can train it to summarize meeting notes and prioritize your outstanding tasks by urgency.” None of it was relevant to my daily work at all.

My day job is payroll contributions processing. I am, unfortunately, a spreadsheet person. AI isn’t useful to me at all. I can’t use it to automate any of my workflow because we can’t give it access to our databases that contain sensitive P.I.I. info.

Pretty sure they recognize the choice and just prefer tyranny. Very similar to how the pro-business centrists in the Bundestag chose to form a coalition with the ascendant Nazi party because they viewed Nazis as pro-industry and Communism as the larger threat.

I really hope they’re found liable and forced to pay damages, the threat of liability payouts for every heat death, every out of control fire, every unusually strong hurricane is maybe the only thing that will ever cripple these companies or force them to change.

El Sayed: "When it comes to trans rights, this is the right to get the health care that you need...It’s the right not to be discriminated against by your government because of who you are. Because what tends to happen is they come for theirs, then they come for yours"
The idea that we can assent to the taking away of anybody’s rights, and think that somehow the government won’t come for all of our rights, is itself the problem. And, look, I don’t need people to understand how they use their rights. I just need people to agree that the government shouldn’t be able to take any of our rights. I put my face on the ground thirty-four times a day, David. Most people don’t understand why I do it. I don’t need them to understand. I just want to have the right to do it. And when people decide that they want to take away my right to do that, I’ve got a problem. Now, I hope that everybody’s going to show up and say, No, no, no. You can’t stop that person or that community from reflecting and praying as they choose. Similarly, when it comes to trans rights, this is the right to get the health care that you need. That’s really what it comes down to. It’s the right to be who you are. It’s the right not to be discriminated against by your government because of who you are. Because what tends to happen is they come for theirs, then they come for yours, then they come for theirs. And at some point you live in a society where rights are negotiable, and that is not the America I was born in. It’s not the America I know and love. It’s not the America I’m going to allow somebody like Donald Trump to give us.

Amnesty International put out a major report documenting the influence of UK based anti trans gender critical organizations and their funding. Within hours, GC groups threatened defamation lawsuits and Amnesty was forced to pull it down. Proving the point they're anti rights. Anyways, here it is.

But also, yes, if we did ever find ourselves in a situation where the government was truly committed to annihilating us, all the guns in the world aren’t going to save you from the full force of the U.S. military and police state. That’s a fantasy

Nobody died in the Belfast riot and that would almost certainly not have been the case if people on both sides of the riot had been armed with AR-15s and Shotguns
100
Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 13/06/2026
Which, if you look at countries where guns are strictly controlled, is just a fact. Lower murder rates per capita, lower suicide rates per capita, lower rates of violent crime per capita and gun deaths aren’t the leading cause of mortality for children.
200
Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 13/06/2026
I mean, the original question was whether the possibility of defending yourself from a Belfast style riot means the 2nd amendment is good actually, and my argument is “No, we’d all be safer if citizens didn’t have a legal right to own guns & it was illegal to manufacture or sell them here.”
100
Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
Sure, but the 2A is also ultimately the main reason we have 45,000 gun deaths a year in this country. So is the level of deterrence created by access to guns worth the cost?
100
Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
Which was my original point about the historic disparity in who the 2nd amendment protects. When marginalized political groups try to exercise their 2nd amendment rights in an organized way, the state changes the rules to criminalize it. So it’s not really useful as a tool of liberation.
100
Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
If politically marginalized people owning guns was a real threat to state power, the state wouldn’t let them own guns. Imagine everyone in Belfast had the same opportunity to own guns that we have in the U.S. would the body count on both sides of the mob have been lower or higher do you think?
100
Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
Not really. There are plenty of countries today that don’t give citizens a baseline right to guns that have much lower murder rates per capita, much lower suicide rates per capita, and where gun deaths aren’t the #1 cause of child mortality across all demographics.

Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
If the pogrom is backed by the government, then the 2nd amendment will be a legal shield for the people doing the pogrom, not the people defending themselves from it.
2121
Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
I fear all it really means is that the people doing the pogroms will arm themselves in anticipation/fear of their targets being armed. It’s a vicious escalatory feedback loop anyway you look at it.
060
Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
Though i do agree, or at least hope, that maybe the paranoid gun culture in the US and the uncertainty of not knowing which households will be packing and which won’t be, might delay the likelihood of a Belfast style riot here.
130
Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
If we reach the tipping point into fascist pogroms, then the first acts of spontaneous violence might be defended against by owning a gun, but as soon as a young white guy doing a pogrom gets killed, the police and the forces sympathetic will mobilize to crush the ones who stood up to the mobs.
180
Nick Hanley @nickhanley.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
Aside from the increased suicide/accidental death risk. I think the other compelling argument against this “here’s why we need the 2nd amendment” idea is that there is a clear historic disparity in who gets to claim “reasonable fear” and who the right to self-defense actually protects in America.

If the richest person on Earth is using his influence to condemn millions of the world’s most vulnerable children to death by famine & disease, and to foment pogroms and racist counterrevolutions at home and abroad, maybe he shouldn’t get to stay the richest man on earth.
