Since this week is Banned Books Week. I figured I would go shopping and to my surprise I found a copy of Alison Bechdel’s memoir “Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic”. I am proud to own this book in my library and I will keep reading more banned books even after Banned Books Week. Happy Banned Books Week!

I spoke about being queer in a religious upbringing to 200 Scottish teens at book event this afternoon. Had seven (yes, seven) queer students and two trans students come out to me quietly in the signing queue afterwards, one of them in tears. I will never forgive those who make their lives so hard.
