A celebratory pumpkin spice latte! I received notice of a story sale earlier this week that I can't talk about yet, but it's an absolute dream come true! More soon!

With the newly-formed Skydance talking about merging HBO Max, Paramount+, and Discovery+ into a single service, streaming is just slowly turning into cable again.

Today might be a difficult day for your Jewish friends, loved ones, and co-workers. As my dear friend @batgirleditor.bsky.social put it, "Today is a day for gentle hearts, please. Gentle with our own hearts, and gentle hearts toward others."

I also really liked the John Carpenter-esque score.

I liked it a lot! I appreciated that it's not a video game play-through or an action movie; this is straight up horror. It's also nonstop. The movie doesn't waste a minute. (In fact, the only scene I didn't like was one that I felt wasn't moving forward.)

Drivers, you may not be aware, but your vehicles have flashing indicators you can use to alert pedestrians and other drivers about your intentions. Check 'em out next time you want to change directions.

Yes! It's like they got word during the making of Season 3 that they were canceled and just dumped it all in the trash heap.

There are a lot of choices I could go with, from HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER to GIRLS, but I'm going to choose SLEEPY HOLLOW because it shat the bed the quickest.

Of the three modern Evil Dead movies so far, EVIL DEAD RISE is still my favorite.

I didn't love EVIL DEAD BURN. I thought the script was pretty bad and the characters weren't interesting. It's a good gore movie, if that's your thing, but the story didn't do it for me. Also, there's a CGI character at the end that looks awful.

Yesterday, Alexa and I went to see the immersive art exhibit "Twilight Zone: Hidden Wonders of the Ocean" at ARTECHOUSE. We sat on beanbags and soaked in this incredible audio-visual experience. My photos can hardly do it justice.

It's only October 4th and the TJ Maxx on 6th Avenue and 18th Street is already getting rid of their Halloween items to make space for Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff! DISAPPOINTED!

We got our flu and Covid shots yesterday. No fun, but it was quick and easy. I can't wait until we figure out a way to vaccinate ourselves with pills instead!

One thing I didn't expect was for the main character to become more villainous over the course of the movie.

GRAVE TORTURE is another horror movie from Indonesian director Joko Anwar, but I didn't like this one as much as the others of his I've seen. It's very slow and there's a lot more drama than horror, although it does get pretty gruesome right at the end. It's well done, but I didn't love it.

Somehow, I made it through the first episode of BETTER LUCK THAN CHUCK, a horror trivia game show on YouTube. The trivia part was fun, but I bounced hard off the comedy skits and characters. I was also surprised at the questions the contestants missed! It's just not for me.

I loved READY OR NOT and didn't think it needed a sequel, but it turns out READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME is a lot better than most unnecessary sequels. I really liked it! It's as funny and over-the-top as the original...
