I'm using Tailwind right now, but it's annoying to try to remember firstly what the CSS rule is and secondly what the Tailwind name for it is. On the other hand Tailwind has sensible defaults for e.g. typography, colours, spacing. And when I do CSS by hand, it quickly turns into a ball of mud […]

Something interesting: on both our old Nikon D50 and Nikon D5300, seemingly at the same time, the file name format changed from DSC_xxxx to _DSCxxxx. No idea why. 🤔 #Nikon

If anyone else is in the same predicament, we followed this video: youtu.be/0PuEnKQyc2I We weren't able to open those flathead screws seen in the second photo. They require an impossibly thin but wide flathead, a narrower one just breaks the screw. Luckily we were able to pull out the […]

I'm amazed and so proud, my wife disassembled the lens and removed the bits of broken cables from inside. Also the AF is now super fast again, like new! We didn't have a replacement cable so she just ripped it out which means that VR doesn't work but everything else does.

Person reassembling the lens on a white paper. Screwdriver in hand, tweezers and more lens pieces on the desk.

The lens partially disassembled, with a piece of torn flex cable next to it on the table.

[Valheim Deep North / endgame spoilers] It's done! Our group game beat the final boss today. Actually, two copies of it because the first one got stuck in its shell mode (which is invulnerable) so we had to spawn a second one and suddenly the first one also rejoined the fight. It ended up […]

Looks like it might be a known issue... :/ photo.stackexchange.com/a/134924 > This cable (linking the VR motors to the circuit board) is attached to an internal barrel of the lens by double-sided adhesive which deteriorates releasing the cable, which then becomes caught on the focus […]

Welp. Is our lense ruined? Never mind the dust, there seems to be some cable loose inside the lense. It moves around and casts a shadow on the image. Nikkor 18-200mm VR DX. #Nikon #Photography

Closeup from front of lense. There is what seems to be a flat wide cable in the path of the light.

More detail, the cable has shifted position.

I have stumbled upon ye olde Internet.

Picture of Nikon camera, along with text:

Shift and tilt motion is feasible in all directions, because at the mount of the lens there is a mechanism to gyrate it around its own axis. On the image at right you may see an animation with all possible movement. Be patient, it is a 240Kb image; it may take some time to load.

@mikko Just tuossa vieressä tehdään uutta taloa, toki ylhäältä alas lasitetuilla parvekkeilla. Siellä on kaksi lasia jo valmiiksi rikki, nopeuttaa niistä läpipääsyä. :D Tällä asuinalueella ei taida olla yhtään parveketta jossa ei olisi kokolasitusta ainakin jossain kohtaa.
