In this paper, we propose solving the alignment problem with a novel technique we call “sandboxing”: if the AI misbehaves, it gets punched with a glove full of sand

I’ve recently watched Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood), not knowing anything about the plot beforehand, and it’s quite amusing how it has some parallels to today

Conway-Conway’s The Game of Life: you start as a cell on a board with two or three neighbors and a car, go through early adulthood, your first job, get married, have children, until you ultimately create an organization that produces designs shaped after its communication structures

I had this tab open for months, but I’m glad I finally got to watch it. Learned so much about memory mapping. Fascinating solution to implement dynamic trampolines through Apple’s restrictions on iOS www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuQGQ1vh9k0

Okay, the Liquid Glass design with floating bubbles instead of toolbars and insistence on icons rather than text buttons now makes A LOT more sense. I still prefer something closer to the old styles for devices other than the Duo, but now it at least has a reason for being. (And damn, it’s […]

Hear me out: it should be called Apple Paper. It just makes sense: it’s by far the thinnest Apple product, it’s foldable, and it pairs perfectly with the new $129 Apple Pencil. (And releasing a new Apple Pencil that’s not compatible with any existing products is perfectly on-brand)

Just noticed that every time I right-click a cell in Numbers, there’s an “Add To Playground” menu item now. So glad that I can quickly turn my business expenses spreadsheet into whatever the hell this is
Screenshot of Apple’s Image Playground with 4 inputs: “08/2026”, “09/2026”, “10/2026”, “11/2026”. The resulting image is something resembling an outdoor panel showing “590%”, or perhaps “520%”

Just noticed a “Summarize” option in Kagi results, and was curious how it would summarize an entire Reddit discussion. It seems the internal prompt asks for ten major insights, and it dutifully provided ten different ways to say the content of the page failed to load
• The provided document text is empty, preventing the extraction of any specific insights or content.
• No context, themes, or narrative details were available for analysis from the source.
• The lack of input text results in an inability to form a summary or identify major takeaways.
• A Reddit post format was specified, yet no accompanying content was provided to evaluate.
• Due to the absence of text, no subject matter could be identified or discussed.
• The instruction to provide ten major insights cannot be fulfilled without source material.
• No characters, arguments, or topics were present to synthesize into a coherent summary.
• The request to refer to the document by name could not be executed as no title or specific document identification was included.
• All constraints regarding tone and format are acknowledged, but the content requirement remains unmet.
• Without input data, the summarization process cannot generate an empty set of bullet points.

Truly awful example of lensing. Serves no purpose besides looking cool. Rectangular selection in images often suffers from being hard to tell whether you’ve accurately captured the desired region or you’re off by one or two pixels in either direction, and Apple managed to make this ten times worse.
