Forget NFC for paying with your phone, I want to tap my phone to get a receipt! No paper, no wasting 20 seconds typing or telling you my email address, all my receipts go in one app, easily searchable. Why is this not a thing?

Who at the Olympics decided that the wheeeeEEEEEzzzzze noise of the drone throughout every single ski and snowboard run was acceptable? It is absolutely not acceptable, I don't care how neat the shots are.

This needs to be at the top of every story about the ICE body-cam thing. They already have body cameras.

"'Land grab' is too quaint a term for what we are witnessing. The old tools of privatization are being helped along by a methodical effort to end regulation. Indeed, the very idea of a public realm is under attack." @timothyaschuler.bsky.social, on Trump's proposed sale of federal lands:

I've been doing just fine with Tidal since 2022, for what it's worth, and there are plenty of services that can port over your playlists. I did it. You can, too.

"It's actually so ludicrous to imagine splitting up Johnson County," Davids told KCUR's Up To Date. "I've seen drafts of hypotheticals where part of Johnson County would be in a district that goes all the way to the Colorado border."

Rep. Sharice Davids says Kansas gerrymandering would 'silence the voices' of voters
Republican leaders in the Kansas Legislature want to follow the lead of states like Texas and Missouri by gerrymandering the state's congressional maps to favor Republicans. U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids, a Democrat who represents the state's 3rd district, says the idea of splitting up Johnson County is ludicrous.

Hey, Mr. President, you know what would help bring manufacturing back to the US? SWITCHING TO THE METRIC SYSTEM. You know, the system that THE ENTIRE WORLD uses to make stuff?

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles

The Flint Hills Trail in Kansas offers views of riverside bluffs, woods, rolling farmland and the largest remaining tallgrass prairie region — one of the most endangered ecosystems in the world. And now cyclists will be able to ride nearly 100 miles of uninterrupted trail. loom.ly/3oMei7o

Is there a word for the sensation when you are disoriented and your mental map is like spinning around in your head for a second or two before it snaps into place? It's a very specific sensation for me and "disoriented" doesn't really capture it, imo.

It’s not just that Trump admires Putin, he’s adopting his playbook. Trump’s comments today on Canada (“an arbitrary border”) and Greenland (“maybe more soldiers go there”) is EXACTLY how Putin talked about Ukraine. None of this is funny. It’s an explicit threat to sovereign nations.

I want a downtown Royals stadium so badly (even/especially in the Crossroads), and I still kinda hope the ballot measure fails next week because I think they need a better plan first.
