Poverty porn portrays the poor as "others", but electeds need to address "normal"/"everyday" people & families in your neighborhood/city/suburb that literally can't afford a government-recommended healthy diet. Reductions in SNAP eligibility are making this worse. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImRu...

Since so many bikes fit in the space of 1 car, you'd think there'd be a law that every day the State Fair needs to take away one more car space & expand the bike parking until there's 10% extra bike parking available. More people will bike when it's more convenient, cheaper, & better than driving.

I really don’t think we’re all taking this nearly seriously enough — Meta is legally admitting that it harms young people and is paying BILLIONS (but not nearly enough billions considering how much they knowingly and intentionally profit off that harm) to avoid proper accountability.

You'd be surprised how many urban, local, small businesses are owned by people living in the suburbs & exurbs. Never assume a "local" business is owned by someone living in your city or neighborhood.

Not to worry: police misdeeds aren't just a Minneapolis or Minnesota or United States thing. In NI (Northern Ireland, UK), the PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland) apparently spied on journalists, & arrested filmmakers documenting police collusion with — guess what? — Nazi-adjacent fascists.

In urbanism, the point of advocating for bicycle usage is it forces you to: * design a more compact city * mix housing with jobs & errands & socializing & fun Why? * you have to design your city for all ages & abilities on a bike * not everyone is an athlete Adding a motor changes the equation

"buses would take three to four times longer" This is both a transportation problem (underfunded transit) & a land use problem (destination density, or lack thereof). Unfortunately, biking is faster than the bus & also better because your next errand destination is not within walking distance.
