This is a new one. Loaded into a trial and was unable to do anything (survivor just kept walking one direction, no other inputs worked other than opening menu). Killer immediately tunneled me out and now I cannot even leave the trial and am told I will get DC penalty if I do. @deadbydaylight.com

I'ma be real, I'm starting to really fucking hate this site. Endless low effort gen slop image macros w/ uncited quotes shat out by bots. Keyboard warriors screaming the same shit into the echo chamber instead of going out into a real community and fucking doing anything w/ their goddam lives

In the same vein I was musing the other night how it was a shame Lower Decks never had Boimler and Barclay run into each other. Their jittery nervousness would have been funny as they both try to take charge in whatever chaos they ended up in or if they met any other more famous Trek character

They quoted me in this New Yorker piece about AI today. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...

“Let’s say there’s a world or time line I exist in where A.I. has been subject to regulation. It is ethical. It has no footprint environmentally,” the novelist Jeff VanderMeer, a prominent critic of A.I., told me over the phone. “With those guardrails in place, would I read an A.I. book? All I can say is no. And the reason is, in part, because I want to read something coming from a particular mind.” Using A.I., he said, “feels like a betrayal of the whole point of why you’re a writer.”

The first episode is.... yikes. Really the first few eps are really rough. Show hadn't figured itself out yet. Fav ep is the s2 finale First First Contact because at its heart it is truly Star Trek. Everyone working together to solve a near impossible problem with teamwork and ingenuity

Is Spawn even gonna be in the movie? I remember for a time McFarlane wanted to make the movie without the titular character in it. That must have been one hell of a pitch meeting "Hey I got this cool character named Spawn, but he's not really in this movie called Spawn"

You cannot guarantee the great successes let alone the skill checks. That's the work. I like sure bets. That's why the perk fails. Players just want things that guaranteed

100

Neverfate 2: Farewell to the Flesh @neverfate.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Too much work and not reliable enough to be worth while.

100

Neverfate 2: Farewell to the Flesh @neverfate.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Road Life is still incredibly disappointing. Why am I doing all that set up when I could run any other self heal perk? Just scrap it and rework it to anything else. No one will miss it because no one was using it.

300

Neverfate 2: Farewell to the Flesh @neverfate.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

And you might be thinking "run another perk to make it not suck" and you'd be wrong because the changes to Stake Out ruin that prospect. Not to mention if you need to run two perks to heal fast there are infinitely better combos.

Stake Out (Rework)
After hiding for 15s within 24m of the Killer, while in their Terror Radius, you earn 1 Token, up to 2/3/4.
While you have at least 1 Token, basic Skill Checks are replaced by special Skill Checks.
Special Skill Checks grant +4% more progress.
Whenever you miss a special Skill Check, lose -4% more progress.
Whenever you hit or miss a special Skill Check, spend 1 Token.

000

Neverfate 2: Farewell to the Flesh @neverfate.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

I get DBD is a 10 year old live service game with 1000s of moving parts and that's hard to balance... but Road Life is still genuinely the worst survivor perk in the game after this "buff" and that's crazy b/c it could be reworked to literally anything else and be better.

Road Life (Rework)
While injured and repairing a Generator: (was injured and not broken)
Whenever you hit a basic great Skill Check, you earn 1 Token.
Whenever you miss a basic Skill Check, you lose 1 Token.
When you have 6/5/4 Tokens, you can heal yourself. Spend all Tokens to heal yourself 100% faster. (now grants the ability to self-heal)
When you stop healing, this ends after 4s. (NEW)

Dev Note: We want Road Life to be more usable on it's own so we've given it the ability to self-heal and removed the broken restriction. We also added a quality of life linger so when a heal is interrupted accidentally it's effect isn't instantly cancelled.
