What’s one thing people get wrong about your area of expertise? I'll start ( #neuroscience): we can’t really “read the brain.” A lot of neuro methods don’t directly measure neural activity, but indirect signals: blood flow, electrical fields etc. And there's a lot of math involved. #funfact

So many of the norms underlying academic culture relied on frictions associated with writing. It was entirely predictable that academia would be profoundly harmed when a machine came along to remove those frictions by making (insincere, inaccurate) communication effortless.
