We loved that the city is so green - not just lots of parks and green space, but bike hire, e-scooters, a decent public transport system and development of walking and wheeling routes. Lots of history - both old and more recent - but all adds to the interest.

Home from Vilnius. A really good weekend away in a city and country we knew very little about. Spent our last afternoon on the city water-taxi - at less than 9 euros for two of us it's a great way to get a sense of Vilnius old and new. 🇱🇹

Our top tip is to install and use the Bolt app - super cheap and quick to get around. It's about 5 euros from the airport to the centre, and cost us 4 euros from our hotel by Vingis park into the old town.

We've been lucky with the weather but it is a really nice and genuinely interesting place to visit - look up the history of Gediminas, the 'Iron Wolf', who founded the city. Good food, plenty of bars and coffee shops and so many parks! It's a very green city.

We were lucky that Jubilee parkrun opened in Bedford just in time for me to tick off the last letter I needed for my alphabet. We definitely need more Js, Is and Ds in my part of the world.

Definitely recommend it! We stayed at the Vilnius Park Plaza which is about 4 minutes from the parkrun startline if you dawdle. It's about 3.5k from the historic Old Town but it's only 4 euros by Bolt so not a problem. I've heard good reports of Krakow - definitely on the list!

I've genuinely enjoyed most of the different parkruns I've run, but I did find Sale Waterpark hard going. The Merseyside footpath was a real ankle-turner! 😬 I do feel guilty about admitting it tho as my mum grew up in Sale and my grandparents lived there for 50 years!

Hmm.... Definitely one to think about in that case! The only other road HM I've done is the Great Eastern in Peterborough, and that's very similar - pancake flat with only road bridges to give any elevation! Will keep an eye on when it opens and hope my flippin' achilles is sorted by then! 😂😭

Well that was delightful, if a bit tough going on the legs. Bourn2Run 10k in Cambridgeshire - which is categorically not flat, let me assure you! Fair bit of walking in the second 5k but I'm happy with that - nice to take part in such a lovely community event! #loverunning ❤️
