Giddy like a schoolboy on the first day of school. Because its my first day back to full-time work. Even got me out of bed early so I can catch the (transit) bus while I wait for my old car to be repaired. Someone clap for me please. Its been a struggle for me these last few months.

Next election in 2027 will be an election for Tribal Chief, along with other members of the Tribal Council who were last elected in 2023; the midterms in 2025 resulted in sweeping re-elections for all candidates, with one exception in which the incumbent for the Standing Pine seat chose not to run.

Fun fact: at the time Mrs. Shumake was sewing this dress for one of the contestants in the 2025 Princess Pageant, we had no idea it would wind up being worn by the would-be winner of the Pageant! Lexi Rodriguez was announced as 2025-2026 Choctaw Indian Princess wearing this dress in the photo.
