Today at #chezRat: Cauliflower, spelt grain and cheese patties with some leftover green beans and white sauce. The parties came out softer and more crumbly than intended, but still quite acceptable.

Today at #chezRat: Panko-breaded cauliflower florets with home-made gochugaru mayo. When I was little, my mom used to make a more basic version of this with regular breadcrumbs, so this version combines fond memories with excellent crunch and a Korean touch. I like it. ❤️

Yesterday, I started this weekend's bake-a-thon by preparing this bad boy from sourdough. Seemed way too liquid at first, but several passes of pulling and folding turned it nicely elastic. Now it's resting in the fridge and waiting for later. #chezRat

Went with the flow, cancelled my original evening plans and instead let myself be led along to a somewhat fancy restaurant. I felt like pizza, I got pizza vitello tonnato. Now starting to feel a bit over-peopled, so I'm chilling, having a last drink, then calling it a night. Life's good. #EF30

Absolutely amazing! I get to read books and cook food all day long, host visitors once a month, and while I have the opportunity to make a History, there's no pressure to actually do so. Also, other people do all the physical labour for me.

Today at #chezRat, I had some green stuff that needed to go, so I did the logical thing and made a green curry, with stripes of plant-based "steak" that also needed to go. The aforementioned jalapeno also found its well-deserved end in there.

I'd say that came out quite alright.And judging by the taste, I'm not even entirely unhappy that I almost burnt it the second time in the oven.

The bread, now a bit darker on top, cut open. The interior has a finely porous, juicy structure, and the crust is nice and crunchy.

And here's the aforementioned main dish: Parmigiana di melanzane. I believe that's Italian for "ridiculous amounts of cheese held together by fried eggplant". Probably not what my GP had in mind when she recommended a more Mediterranean diet, but you gotta live a little. =^_^= #chezRat
