and when we're talking about japanese illustrators in particular, the response from bluesky moderation has been overbearing and some of them concluded it wasn't worth the hassle, giving bluesky a bad reputation from the start.

to be fair, there is a significant japanese presence on bluesky, and a fair amount of developers. they're one of the biggest groups here. japanese organizations have also run the biggest mastodon instance (at the time) and now run the biggest misskey instance with a significant amount of users.

#3. i want to talk about things to people who understand *me* specifically, without having to have a "private alt" like i had on twitter. there are plenty of people on bsky who have side-accounts with fewer followers where they want to keep their posts private to that smaller amount of people.

you know how japanese eludes a lot of context in sentences, like who is doing what, so sometimes translations get it wrong? now imagine that happening constantly between two languages which do not elude nearly as much context… it's so weird how they keep getting it wrong

copilot in swedish lets you choose between a quick response, deep reflection, or automatic, which "decides how long you should think". translations are just broken nowadays… i run most things in english anyways

i tried playing some counter-strike 1.6, but it was all fake servers and no players... except for one belgian web design agency who ran a 24/7 surf_water-run server, a map you can finish in 3 minutes, with no players on it, from a home ISP address... i love that someone is doing that
