I've beaten every GC/GBC Pokémon game this year! Green, Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, TCG 1 and 2, Puzzle Challenge, and Pinball! It started as a means to fill out my Gold Pokedex while shiny hunting my Hoothoot, but that required playing so many games that I decided to beat 'em all.

One of the best ways to isolate transphobes is just to repeatedly talk positively about trans people, even if you aren’t trans. It uplifts your trans followers *and* makes bigots know they aren’t welcome in spaces you’re in!

Watched The Hobbit trilogy with my gf. While I can't say these movies are as impactful for me as LOTR has always been, they are certainly entertaining.

To end International Translation Day on a translating note, here is an old, but excellent essay by the legend Cathy Hirano on the difficulties of translation in general and J-E translation in specific.

Eight Ways to Say You: The Challenges of Translation

Last year I had the honor of attending the Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards ceremony in Massachusetts, not as an award recipient but as an accompanist — as the translator for Kazumi Yumoto’s The Friends,...

Also, I quit my job without anything lined up because I got tired of shenanigans. (Including my manager going behind my back to sell a pet to someone I had refused sale to because they already had one that died.) I am looking for more work, but being unemployed right now gives me so much free time!

Let's see. I'll talk about the video games I'm playing lately. I beat Dark Souls 3 last month, and I just started my replay of Final Fantasy XII this month. I'll be playing the original version instead of the one on Steam!

Apparently Debora will be in the new DQM. Ugh... I hope her role is optional or ignorable. I prefer when she doesn't exist at all, but if I don't have to interact with her in any capacity I can still enjoy the game!

The new DQM game has taken over my brain. I crave info on it more than I ever craved info on DQ12. I need to keep my expectations in check!

Torch60 is named such because of when I used to speedrun Dragon Quest 1 SFC. There is a treasure chest that has a 15/16 chance to have a Torch, and a 1/16 chance to have a necklace. I rerolled the chest 60 times on a run, which was the record for the community at the time. It has since been broken.

Brave Hero Yuusha turns 10 this year. There may still be a small story left to tell. The King and Horace have been cursed! A most powerful curse where the Attack command is stronger, but lowers their Max HP. Permanently. Can they resist using such a power enough to return home? #gamedev #rpgmaker

People living under fascism didn’t survive by giving up joy—they protected it. They held onto the things fascism tried to erase: art, friendship, jokes, rituals, language, memory. Not as escapism but as resistance. As proof they were still human. Joy isn’t frivolous under fascism. It’s strategic.
