I keep seeing screenshots of that tweet from Johnson, saying that the security services told him there was no evidence of successful Russian interference in the referendum. Clearly, that is not the same as saying there was *no* interference, so both him and Burnham can be telling the truth.

Exactly this. It's what Russia has done for 100+ years. Disinformation and meddling are what Russian intelligence does.

Every time a Brexist denies Russian interference, ask them "do you believe that Russia intervenes in European politics?" If the answer is yes, then the follow-up is "and why do you conclude that they choose not to interfere in British politics?"

Funny how both Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson echo Kremlin talking points about Russian Brexit meddling being a ‘lie’, exactly as they did a decade ago blaming the EU for Putin’s first invasion of Ukraine

Concluding the meeting with the American delegation in the US two days ago, after receiving a tirade of threats from Trump officials, Ukraine's Budanov turned when leaving and said, "We are now going to burn every last Russian refinery and every last port to hell. All of it, down to the final one."

Such a shame this is satire, albeit very good satire, because it captures Tr*mp's malignancy so well. Posted on the other place by one Peter Girnus. Full version is worth a read
Message reads:

This year. I will not say the name, because we never say the name, but you know the name.

A certain head of state wanted this prize the way a child wants a thing in a shop window, which is to say loudly, and in public, and with the full belief that wanting it was itself the argument. He said he deserved it. He said he’d ended eight wars, a number that grew most times he said it, like a fish. He had other heads of state phone us. Israel’s prime minister posted it on the internet, “Give him the Nobel.” The leaders of Cambodia and Pakistan announced they’d nominated him, as though announcing it were part of it, as though we tally mentions. A man flew around the globe collecting endorsements for a Norwegian committee the way you’d collect signatures for a petition to the council about a noisy dog.

And here, uff da, is the detail I treasure, the one that makes me smile into my coffee. The nomination deadline is the 31st of January. He took office on the 20th. So for all the phone calls, all the posts, all the gilded lobbying, the only nominations that could possibly count for this year’s prize were filed in the first eleven days of his term, before he had, by his own arithmetic, ended a single one of the eight wars. He campaigned all year for a prize whose window had shut while he was still hanging up his coat. We didn’t have to reject him. The calendar did. We just watched. Norwegians are very good at watching. We have long winters.

The BBC is already giving Nigel Farage coverage for a speech he hasn’t even delivered. Report on what he says tomorrow, by all means. But previewing it now gives him free publicity and lets him set the agenda before anyone can scrutinise his words.

Immediately after Ukraine took out two of the five data centers run by the Russian tech giant Yandex, pro-Trump and pro-MAGA posts on American social media sites plummeted. The same happened to posts boosting Germany's far-right AfD. Russia is engaged in MASSIVE election interference.

Your regular reminder that almost everything Trump is getting away with is not because of presidential strength, but because of congressional weakness and judicial deference. The constitutional tools are already there to fix this, but those who can fix it are refusing to do so.

Current DoD regulations for executions clearly state that in section 2.5(b) that "No person under the age of 18 shall witness the execution." Pete Hegseth plans to live-stream it, meaning the execution will be seen by millions of children.

The larger public in Europe may miss this. But every diplomat and international relations expert and pundit here sees this and will remember for a generation: after the US promised to protect Ukraine if it gave up its nuclear weapons, it is now openly supporting Russia. The great American betrayal.

Trump has denied disaster relief for Illinois following severe storms in August. Trump approved a request from Indiana for damage resulting from the same storms. One is a "blue state." The other is a "red state." No other president has politicized natural disasters the way that Trump has.

I think this analysis is correct. Reports out of Russia for the last six weeks show huge diesel shortages and long lines of cars trying to get it. Russia doesn't have the diesel Trump says he's buying for them. This is all for another purpose, which is psy ops.

Trump has imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court, and while his kids "negotiate" a Ukrainian peace deal, he's paying Putin to breach sanctions. Hegseth is live-streaming an execution by firing squad, and gave the UFC a binding contract to train the US military in hand to hand combat.

Given that Russia can't supply ITSELF with diesel – production is down a third in a year – this has nothing to do with US farmers or truckers, and everything to do with a President who will do anything to cling to authority, including selling out the West completely having firebombed the Middle East

Trump, September 2025: Europe must stop buying Russian oil that is funding the war against Ukraine! Trump, October 2026: We're going to buy 300k tons of Russian diesel even though we export ~200k tons a day of it. Why? Reasons. I want to thank President Putin! WTAF 🤯

For the sake of our own security, we must pursue EU membership. "But it is not Lesvure, or Merz or even Burnham who is propelling the UK back into the EU, but the efforts of Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump that are making the case for a stronger united Europe that can protect its own interests."
