I'm still so angry about this. DOJ blatantly forum and judge shopped in the northern district of Texas. They lied and misrepresented the need for an the records to the court. The 1st circuit effectively let them get away with it. This is one of the worst abuses I've ever seen of judicial process.

Texas is banning students from writing on LGBTQ topics and removing any references to gender identity and sexual orientation. You'll never guess what the author here hasn't covered but then immediately wrote this piece.

On Avoiding Gen AI, Scams and Bots:
Alas, bots, gen AI, scam artists and liars are all abundant on the internet. And they sure do seem to be getting more obnoxiously prevalent by the day. Do your best to avoid them all, but it’s important to be mindful in all situations and not entrust your book, your art or your money to someone nefarious.

Firstly, generative AI is not writing. It will never be writing. Using it is outsourcing your creativity and using works mined and stolen from other authors. Trad and indie authors alike have had their reputations destroyed by using such nonsense. Don’t be one of them. It’s gross, it will lose you your readers, and authors will no longer want to associate with you. Write your book yourself and be proud of what you’ve achieved. If you didn’t write it, you’re not an author. Simple as that. And just remember, you can’t copyright generative AI, either. Not to mention its detrimental impacts on the environment.

Secondly, on bots and scammers. There are a growing number of folks out there who will try and sell you the secrets of publishing for a certain fee. They will say they can get you exposure for a monthly fee, or even a one-off fee, that they’ve turned numerous authors into best sellers, that they’ve got the keys to the kingdom if only you pay them! Ha! No. Just, no. Please do not listen to these lying liars. DO. NOT. FALL. FOR. IT.

Please ask around before trusting someone’s word that they can suddenly turn you into an overnight sensation with a single social media post. Some will say their blogs get thousands of views and thus you should pay them! Dear writers, if such a thing were possible for anywhere from 10-100 dollars/euros/pounds, etc, everyone would be a best seller. Anyone saying this is very, very, very, very likely to be entirely full of nonsense. Please, I beg you, do not spend money on false promises.
