We're throwing it back to 1981 today with this photograph, which shows when miners from Denby Grange Colliery broke through to the Caphouse workings on 17 January. 💪🏁 This linked up the workings underground and gave another form of egress from both mines. Image: Harold White, NCMME Collection

A YPS member (clue: it was me) visited the National Coal Mining Museum yesterday for a family day out. We visited Father Christmas 140 metres below the surface and joined the lantern parade. A great experience!
