A new study tested a tailored post-Kasai protocol where steroids weren’t routine — they were triggered by stool color + signs of inflammation. The approach was linked to lower bilirubin at 3 mo & better 2-year native liver survival, without more complications. bit.ly/3LdnOkE

Between 2017 and 2024, the percentage of newborns not receiving intramuscular vitamin K for prophylaxis nearly doubled, with refusal rates highest outside hospital births and among certain racial and ethnic groups. ja.ma/3XKTMaL
