Struggling to find a more reputable source on it. However, it’s been suggested that unlike other teams that are forced to manage player stand downs, and post 6N injuries. Leinster are allowed to dictate when they tour SA, with the URC duly obliging. Is a massive financial advantage not enough?

Hoping to see the same first forty, but a stronger second half from these ladies. Improved tackling & set piece would be great too. They have some impressive players coming through, but they’ve been let down badly by coaching staff, and their union.

Surely only a short time until JD takes the lead at Ten for Red Bulls Rugby…

Interestingly, neither Ben White, nor Huw Jones lined up for Toulon at the weekend. The French club started Serin at Nine, and Smaili at 13 to partner the experienced - (but increasingly slow, Fickou). Toulon went down 28-0 to Montpellier. If uninjured, they feel like curious (poor) omissions.

Good of Leinster to keep playing these old timers who have nowhere else to go.

Ollie Learherbarrow continues to look the business. He was an absolute monster for Scotland at age grade. Surely, at Red Bulls & with the Toonie connection, Alex Masibaka or not he’s due an invitation to the next training camp?!

It would be great if Wil Hurd retained that TH jersey for Tigers. He’s very much in need of regular game time building to a World Cup, and his age profile fits well with Zander & OBL. Some (familiar…) poor outings from Heyes will help, of course. But it’s an Eng club & Heyes is an Eng player…

How long do we think it’ll be before the IRFU suggests going down to 3 provinces?

The problem is it depends heavily on the officials. When Scotland played SA at Murrayfield, the SA scrum was going ridiculously early. So Ben White waited to show the referee what was happening. Unfortunately, the referee was Christophe Ridley of Eng, so he penalised White for ‘slowing play’(!!!) 😳🤦

Glasgow supporters fearing a sore neck this season from looking up at Edinburgh’s league position?!

Felt like Cox rather lost her way a little today. Called a number of legitimate contests as ruck formed, and seemed to judge some scrums on vibes alone. Certainly wasn’t the reason why Gloucester destroyed Quins, as the latter are an atrocious side. But not her (or her Assistant’s!) best display.

As rusty as Glasgow still are, those are points dropped. At home, to Ulster, Glasgow should still be seeing that out with a full return.

Goodness, Glasgow. Smith is evidently an excellent Coach. However, this is a team self-evidently still carrying a considerable amount of pre-season rust - and you have to question why?

Got to feel for James Lang. For years he was one of the few at Edinburgh who, despite the low quality coaching, looked like he wanted to turn up and give 100%. He leaves them just as they seem to be getting it together…and re-joins Quins, who are an absolute embarrassment.

So far, disappointing failure to address SA cheating with subs. Do SA supporters realise this type of behaviour from their team leaders is part of the reason why some rugby followers suspect possible PED abuse? A coaching setup that’s ’win at all costs’, with a laughably weak testing structure.

Obviously, it’s better to have Demmo available in November, than not. So confirmation of his release is positive. The question remains whether heading into the final year of the World Cup cycle, he’s still the best option at Eight?

Montpellier have some decent sized, pacey players - but they lack the technical level of their opponents. Even basics like post tackle ball presentation. Montpellier just aren’t enabling phases, which a team like TLS just prey upon.

Naxis911 @naxis911.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Alex Masibaka has had a busy evening. The Scotland Number Eight hopeful has had a lot to contend with against that TLS pack, and hasn’t had it all his own way, but he’s been at the heart of lots of what went right for his side.

Ali Price pretty much picking up where he left off last season for Montpellier. Continues to impress in his new career in France. Accurate & sharp. Good to see.

Watching SA ‘medical’ staff blatantly arguing to game the system. Instead of accepting a tactical decision had backfired. Either SA are penalised for cheating, or SA overtly failed to medically manage a Head Injury correctly - and should be hammered for it.

As an aside, it’s well beyond time World Rugby addressed the way SA cheat in areas like substitution laws. Not the first time we’ve seen it. Needs idiots like Jim Hamilton to stop praising it as ‘finding an edge’ too. It’s blatant cheating, and if teams with fewer WC wins did it they would be shot.

Hard to asses Aus today. Looking genuinely good in places - (solid scrum, and lovely touches here & there). But this hasn’t even been a somewhat rotated SA side. Other than a few ageing stars, it’s been a completely new 15 populated with only fringe options. Should know more after Bled series vs NZ.

Same ref that refused to show a card to a Munster player despite several pretty cynical offences? Doubt any Munster supporter could argue with a straight face they didn’t get the rub from that referee.

Ali Price & Adam Hastings both start for Montpellier tomorrow night versus Toulouse. Scotland hopeful Alex Masibaka also starts at Eight, (Hogg bench). Meanwhile, Kinghorn rotates out for Toulouse having played last weekend.

Ultimately, a good result on the road first week for Glasgow, against a traditionally spirited opponent. But they’ll need to get their handling & execution back up to speed quickly as some of that was very poor indeed.

Naxis911 @naxis911.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
At home, and with Glasgow playing so incredibly poorly. That was probably Munster’s best chance of taking Glasgow this season.

Naxis911 @naxis911.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
Not sure if it was accidental, or not. But two reckless looking dives off feet by Munster players, directly on to Matt Fagerson’s lower leg, is not a good look. Even worse when the officials completely ignore it.

Glasgow’s handling has been very poor. For a team that plays the way they do, that’s always going to hurt them. Not helped of course by losing a man for ten, while Munster escaped a clear card. A strong next twenty will be key for the visitors. Can’t leave this to the officials as they’re a bit lost

Giving up three tries in ten minutes despite being very much on top before, suggests some pretty fundamental problems exist within that Sco Women’s squad. Tackling is again an issue. As is set piece. Some major work still required before any progress can be claimed.

I’m just not sure why you would sign a 13 of the caliber of Huw Jones, yet not bother to ever pass him the ball. He’s spent fifty odd minutes cleaning rucks out wide.

Because he plays for Scotland, he’s unlikely to ever get proper recognition. But Ben White is honestly a superb Nine. Not even just in executing the requirements of a Nine to a high standard. But (much like Finn), brave & punchy in the tackle, high rugby IQ, and excellent game management.
