😴 #comicstrips
A four-panel Sundae Comics strip in a moody purple and blue palette set in a late-night radio booth. A pink-haired DJ named Madilyn Smith, wearing oversized glasses and headphones, introduces herself as the host of ASMR Radio from midnight to 3am. In panel two she teases the evening's programming: later she'll be eating a crunchy cucumber sandwich, and at 2am she'll work on some collating and stapling — snapping her fingers with a satisfied "snap snap snap." In panel three she raises a finger and says "But first..." In panel four she pulls a large mug directly to her face and takes a slow, enormously amplified sip: "SSLLUUURRRRPPP."

Sorry Henry, I'm afraid we mustache you to leave. 🥸 #comics
A four-panel Sundae Comics strip set in a corporate meeting room. In panel one, a mustachioed man at a podium welcomes a new colleague named Henry. In panel two, Henry waves cheerfully — he is young, clean-shaven.. In panel three, a wide shot reveals the full conference table: every single colleague staring back at Henry has a mustache. In panel four, two female colleagues — both also sporting mustaches — lean together, one whispering to the other: "I give him three weeks, tops."

Feels like summer. 🔥 #comics
A full-page Sundae Comics strip in a pink and blue palette depicting a family in spacesuits on what appears to be a barren red landscape. A mother and her young children enjoy a picnic, building sandcastles and lounging under a beach umbrella. The children ask ordinary kid questions — one's suit is leaking, another needs to pee (the mother cheerfully explains the suit is designed for that), and one asks if their head will really explode if they take off their helmet ("Probably"). At a dried-up lakebed, a child asks where all the water went — "It dried up a long time ago, dear." Another child wonders if there were ever fish. In the final panel, one child holds up an old sign reading "YOLO" while another asks: "Mommy, if we ever win the lottery and get ta move to Mars... will we still hafta wear these suits outdoors?" The implication? They aren't on Mars. They're on Earth.

Oh what a tangled web Mittens weaves! #comics
A four-panel Sundae Comics strip in a cool blue and pink palette. Three robed figures — the Fates of Greek mythology — are introduced solemnly. Panel one describes the first sister spinning the thread of life, birthing each person into existence. Panel two shows the second sister measuring each thread, giving purpose to all our days. Panel three cuts to the third sister, the death figure with a skull face, looking confused — the thread has gone missing. Panel four reveals the culprit: a fat blue cat named Mittens, completely tangled up in pink yarn, while someone off-panel scolds: "Oh, Mittens! What have you done?! No, Mittens! Bad cat! You can't just toy with people's lives like that, Mittens!"

A fortune teller sits across from a client at a draped table with a glowing crystal ball. In panel one, the fortune teller announces "Look! A vision from the spirit world appears!" In panel two, she peers excitedly into the ball and says: "I see... a pair of shoes! Leather flats now fifteen percent off at Milt's Department Store!" In panel three, she apologizes: "Oh! I am so sorry. It's these new smart crystal balls everyone's selling..." In panel four, she asks: "Do you know anything about ad blockers?"

A long time ago in a comic strip far, far away… #starwarsday
A four-panel comic strip parody of the "I am your father" scene from The Empire Strikes Back, reimagined in a cartooning context.
Panel 1: Luke Skywalker shouts, "But you can't be my father! My father was a great cartoonist!"
Panel 2: Darth Vader stands on a platform as Luke clings to a railing. Vader says, "No one backed my crowdfunding campaign, my son." The young man screams, "NOOO!"
Panel 3: Vader says "Join me and together we can create a comic strip more powerful—" but before he can finish his thought, Luke jumps from the railing, shouting "NEVEEEEEER!" Vader looks down, saying, "He jumped?! Dang, that's hardcore."
Panel 4: In a separate scene, Vader leans towards two Imperial officers, holding out a newspaper. Vader says, "Hey, you guys seen the latest issue of The Imperial Gazette? I don't know who this Garth Nader guy is but his comics are freaking hilarious!"

An old man and his grandson walk into a bar… #comics
A four-panel Sundae Comics strip featuring alien bar patrons. A pink-skinned, bulbous-headed alien musician recounts a story to two friends at a bar — a small fuzzy creature with a cocktail umbrella drink and a large blue furry creature. In panel one, the musician describes locals giving an old man and his grandson trouble at a venue, thinking "where's the bouncer?" In panel two, he explains that out of nowhere the old man drew a sword and cut someone's arm clean off, blood spurting everywhere. In panel three, the whole bar went dead silent and he half-expected Imperial Troops to burst through the doors. In panel four, the musician takes a sip of his blue drink and delivers the punchline: "Absolute craziest thing I've ever seen in all my years of playing space clarinet." The art style is loose and expressive with bold inks and a limited color palette.

A four-panel Sundae Comics strip in a rich purple and blue palette. A real estate agent shows a couple around a house that has one unusual feature: a glowing, rune-covered pink door. In panel one, the couple admires the house while the agent mentions "one rather unusual feature — this door." In panel two, when asked what's on the other side, the agent cheerfully explains it's a literal gateway into the fiery pit of eternal suffering and torment ruled by Satan and his demon horde, while the couple wonders if the space just needs a little TLC. In panel three, the agent assures them they'll be perfectly safe as long as they never disturb the runes or break the sacred seal, while wailing sounds prompt the question "what's that wailing I hear?" — answered with "the souls of the damned crying out for salvation." In panel four the couple deliberates, one saying "I think we could live with that" while the other throws their hands up: "Are you kidding me?! I don't think we're gonna find a better deal in this market!"

Alt text: A four-panel Sundae Comics strip with a bold warm color palette of red, orange, yellow, and teal. A man eating at a restaurant takes a bite of something extremely spicy. In panel one, his face turns bright red and he gasps "Didn't... HRK... think it would end... ULK... li-k-ke thisss..." In panel two, drenched in sweat and turning orange, he stammers "Guh-guh-glorioussss..." In panel three, his soul — a cartoon ghost — screams "HGAAAAUH" as it exits his body. In panel four, a waitress asks "Gosh! Too spicy?" while his ghost replies: "No! The meal was perfect. Can I get a to-go box?"

You gotta pick one. 🐶😺🐲🕷️
A four-panel comic titled 'There Are Four Types of People.' Each panel shows a person who has literally become their pet type. Dog Person: a grumpy man with a bulldog-like face wearing a studded collar, growling 'GRR.' Cat Person: a hissing figure with wild hair and long claw-like fingernails. Dragon Person: a person with pointed ears breathing fire while holding a tiny lighter, belching. Spider Person: a nervous-looking person with multiple eyes and extra arms holding scissors, going 'SNIP SNIP.' The joke subverts the typical 'dog person vs cat person' personality test by taking it literally and adding absurd categories.

Another art-prompt-tober flashback! I made this one for Inktober 2021 Day 5, "Raven!" #webcomics

A single-panel comic featuring two dragons mid-meal. One dragon scolds the other for eating too quickly.

"peaceful" #artober day 5 I lucked out a bit on this one — just around the time that I was wrapping up work on my comic for day 4 of art-prompt-tober, my very funny wife started in on a riff about a late night asmr radio show. I thought it was hilarious, so I stole the whole thing.
A comic about an ASMR radio host who plans to broadcast soothing sounds like eating cucumber sandwiches and stapling paper.

Oh, jeez! It's only day 3 of art-prompt-tober and I've already fallen behind! The idea I originally chose for my day two prompt "weave" (from Inktober 2025's prompt list) just wasn't working — so I scrapped it and started over this morning! Now onto the next one!
A comic retelling of the Three Fates from Greek mythology—until a playful cat tangles up the threads of human destiny.
