Fired up The Witcher 3 Remastered tonight. Took me a few minutes to remember how to play, and much longer to go through the new skill tree, but then I fell right back into it. God I love this game. Can't wait for Songs of the Past!

Baltimore Comic-Con is this weekend! It's the most casual and laid-back mainstream show there is. Unlike the madhouse that is San Diego or NY, at Baltimore CC you can just walk up to pretty much anyone and have a real conversation. I'll be there, just breezing my way through, saying hi to folks.

It's not the most substantial film, but Resident Evil works because instead of trying to work with the games' nonsensical lore, Cregger decided to adapt the feel of actually playing them. It's also much more of a comedy than I was expecting. It really is After Hours meets Night of the Living Dead.

I had to cancel a work trip today because of a family emergency (see my very sad earlier post) and Dulles refunded my prepaid parking hours after my scheduled time. I take back every bad thing I've ever said about that airport. The entire place is redeemed. I even love the mobile lounges now.

One hilarious thing I noticed watching Akira yesterday - when Kei yells out to Kaneda at the end of the movie (so this is after they've been through total hell together) she calls out, "KANEDA-KUN!" Which, if you know your Japanese honorifics, is what she'd say to her little brother.

Akira in IMAX was amazing, even if it does mean you're seeing full size and with full clarity stuff that was meant to fade into the background. It just shows how handmade it all is. You can make out individual brush strokes in the backdrops, and see barely drawn people in crowds. I love that.
