Trump's claim that he's a great "fundraiser" deserving of recognition needs to be unpacked. When he asks CEOs for money, they give it because they fear that if they don't, he will abuse federal power to wreck their lives or businesses. Let's not honor or commemorate that.

Policy proposal: large vehicles (SUVs and pickup trucks) shouldn’t be banned, but sales should have a pedestrian safety tax to help address the externality (greater risk to pedestrians). Also, naming it that serves a public awareness purpose.

💫 Does simply recalling an interaction with a government program leave a psychological mark? A new SNAP survey experiment (n=3,812) finds that recalling encounters increased negative affect, even though most reported low burden. Negative experiences leave a stronger imprint than positive ones.
