I was babysitting my brothers bunny earlier this summer and decided to paint her as a character that would fit into the MTG Bloomburrow plane, whilst taking ryan Pancoast's oils course. I used the 'Valley Questcaller' card as my design brief and this is what I came up with. Oils on aluminium 12x16"

Very excited to finally share my latest painting - Request for Aid I had a blast researching and drafting this one! It was so fun to explore the composition, pose and lighting to find what best described the mood and story I wanted to convey.

A wounded female character with torn wings kneels in front of a grand figure and is tentatively reaching for their hand.

The central character has large red and white striped moth wings, wears metal armour and holds a large spear with two of their four hands. They look down at the wounded guest and offer their hand. With their remaining hand, they request the support of an assistant who approaches with a bowl of medicinal items which is erupting with a thin smoke that curls around the assistant as they walk.

Other members of the court can be faintly seen in the far distance observing the unfolding action with awe.

In the background, large curtains drape over the court and frame the huge cocoon which hangs behind our central characters.

The thumbnail vs the final ✨ Challenged myself with combining a blender block out and paintover for this latest piece for Neurocracy, a project I am delighted to return to once again ❤️ I learned a lot!

A sketch thumbnail of a Dutch school, surrounded by water as canals weave between and past the buildings. Boats reside against a dock, and plants decorate flower beds.

The final of the previous thumbnail, created using f-spy to capture the camera perspective of my original; blocked out in blender against my reference image, utilising applied materials on geometry; the blender image was then painted over to add texture, more vegetation, boats, and digital effects.
