Climate change can flip some mountain ecosystems from grasslands to woodlands, according to a study in Colorado. Artificially warmed plots transitioned from mostly herbaceous plants to mostly woody shrubs over 29 years. In PNAS: ow.ly/vOGH50Yl7JC
