Yeah it’s great! We have a handful of aging Sonos speakers and an AV receiver that we use with it. It’s like comically better than the Sonos or HEOS apps. It looks like you can airplay to multiple speakers now so I’d probably just do that if i had newer gear.

Spotify connect is weirdly the killer feature for me. Need to see how tidal does this. I like that it doesn’t have podcasts and books (that I see anyway)

There does not seem to be a home assistant package for holiday seasons, like for showing spooky lights during the weeks before halloween. I wonder if I should make this but what if I get issues like “Christmas ends on new years day! Not new years eve!” Maybe someone has already figured this out.

Self driving cars are such a cool technology, but I just was driven past by a certain electric car in a crosswalk intersection where the driver was watching a TikTok leaned back pretty far. Maybe it was totally fine. I’m just not ready for this at all.

Did you know your MacBook has a sensor that knows the exact angle of the screen hinge? It’s not exposed as a public API, but I figured out a way to read it and make it sound like an old wooden door.

On paper, I love that iOS auto complete and voice to text is more private. But changing my sentences last minute to a totally nonsensical result makes me stop caring for a second. I miss the days when I could slap away swipes on Google Keyboard, and it would just figure everything out perfectly.

The unifi set up was pretty straightforward for me and I wish I had done it sooner. Still need to put in cat6 though. I have a cat6 run to my office but some rooms still get 100mbps 😱. I should probably just pay somebody too.

I ever get a chance to work low enough in the stack to work on mobile keyboard input, I wanna make it so that pressing shift on a selection of a word capitalizes it. This is such a pain on mobile.

I do this routinely throughout the day and it’s surprising how often I end up referencing it later. It makes it easier for me to disconnect from work too. Great tip!
