If Trump is buying diesel from Russia and Russia is funding Iran… is Trump funding the defence of his own invasion (all to decrease oil prices before midterms which he will likely lose despite his attempts to rig, in part because the war with Iran is so unpopular)? Have I understood this right????

So Ukraine successfully targeted a major Russian data centre and there was more than a 50% decrease in bot accounts supporting Trump and the AFD….. Meanwhile Burnham has confirmed there was Russian interference in the Brexit campaign in 2016.

Why do we think Kubrick chose to make Jack Torrence a weird moody knobhead right from the beginning of The Shining? (Haven’t read the novel so don’t know how faithful the film is). Would have been scarier if he’d had more of a personality change? Maybe?

Someone texted into lbc whilst I was talking about how much I love books to say ‘you sound posh for a mixed race girl must be all that reading well done you’re an English rose now’ except they spelled ‘your’ wrong and it really helped me to deal with their racism/sexism how funny I found that.

I think they’ve conflated the Zionism debate (which was always going to end badly for the party and give red meat to the people who hate them) and the by-election result (which as you say was actually quite good) and turned it into a ‘bad week for Polanski’ narrative that doesn’t stand up.

I deleted my post about the BBC by-election coverage because it was just a kind of ‘live updates as it unfolds’ type dealeo rather than a headline as I originally thought (I screen grabbed it from Threads). As several people pointed out, that changes the perceived absurdity of it.
