How in the hell are there two major league baseball players on two different teams named Max Muncy?! And how were they born on the same day, twelve years apart?! Twilight Zone shit.

Hi! Would any of the people who used to follow me on Twitter care to follow me here, too? My feed is 79% posts from @patrickzircher.bsky.social—which is fine most of the time. But a little variety is also nice.

I hated when DC did this years ago, too. Metropolis and Gotham aren’t analogues of L.A., and nobody remembers Spider-Man swinging around Burbank, or Daredevil being the savior of Laurel Canyon.

I…may have taken this figure (from SPEEDING BULLETS, where Kal-El lands in Gotham, not Kansas, and is adopted by the Waynes) that my kid left laying around and made him perform some Shakespeare in the park. Er, dinner table theater? Yeah, that.

Hey, NYC and MSG— Great job during tonight’s national anthem of making it clear that your boos were for the Orange Stain, and not for the anthem, the country, or the wonderful Broadway singer. Well done. Your friend, A Pacers fan

I received an update on a Kickstarter comics project I backed a long time ago. The update does not contain an apology. So I logged in to check; this was "successfully funded on Dec. 14, 2018." That was my son's 4th birthday. He's 11 now. For fuck's sake, get your shit together, comics people.

I’ve always been interested in the concept of swiping. And I agree that this is not an example of it. I wrote about swiping and more in this post about using Nana Banana to learn about its limits in stealing from others artists to “generate” images. naptownbooks.substack.com/p/the-machin...

I preferred B&N to Borders, but I still miss the massive, two-part Borders in downtown Indianapolis. Waldenbooks > Books-a-Million. In NYC, my favorite is Three Lives. But I like almost all of the major bookstores there. City Lights is cool. Elliott Bay Books is cool. Never been to Powell’s.

Here’s my actual favorite comic book panel of all time. No, it’s not real. Yes, it makes me laugh every time I even think of it.
Moon Knight descends down a castle’s long, winding staircase and says, “I know you’re here, Dracula, you big fucking nerd. Where’s my goddamn money?”

Among my favorite panels despite not caring at all about the story or any single element of this issue’s construction, other than the joke.

I just now felt the urge to call my brother and talk about Sam Kieth, whose art we loved. But my brother died far too young, as well—far younger than Mr. Kieth.

@seanclarity.bsky.social on another app said there should be an X-Men ‘87 cartoon, and I can’t stop thinking about it. The X-Men roaming around the Outback. Weird-ass punk cyborgs. A literal Fool on the Hill who sees the world spinning ‘round. I’m here for it.

My mom bought this issue for me and my brother at a used bookstore in Lafayette that also sold comics. It was a little banged up, so it cost 39 cents. 🙂 That store got ahead of the 90s boom and comics became much more of its focus, but then it tanked like everything else during the bust.

I haven’t seen the movie, and this is pretty funny. But…maybe comic book artists should increase their page rates, band together, start a union or guild, or fight together in some other way so that this isn’t so far-fetched?

There’s a guy in England, a political figure, who shares a name with my friend who killed himself in 1998. I don’t follow the account here, but for some reason, most of his posts get recommended to me. It stops me every time. (Twitter used to recommend that I follow my deceased parents’ accounts.)
