Trying to enjoy the new series of #taskmaster because Nina, Isy, and Chloe are wonderful humans, but it's getting f*cking frustrating to watch Richard performatively whining about being on a show he agreed to be on and is being paid thousands of pounds to do. I find his schtick deeply tiresome.

The organisers of the next FISM (European Championship of Magic) in Spain said on their Facebook page that no animal acts will be permitted because of venue regulations- so no doves, rabbits, dogs etc - and it is kicking off in the comments!. Didn’t take long for the sexiest whataboutery to start 🥸

Researcher micro-frustrations: trying to access the Proquest Guardian and Observer archive database online in the BL and the article images/pdfs not loading at all. Whole pages will load, but are too low res to zoom in on. Tried a hour later in a different reading room, same thing. Aaarrgh!

Love this from suffragist writer Evelyn Sharp in 1909 - an extract from an article called "Between Two Boards" about her experience of representing the WSPU on the streets of London and selling the newspaper "Votes for Women": #suffrage #history #wspu
Text that reads: "I always like to think that one of the many compensating by-products of the militant agitation is the human experience it brings with it of all sorts and conditions of life. After a morning spent in selling Votes for Women in the street, for instance, one always registers a vow to refuse nothing in future from a street hawker, although it may mean stocking the home with quivering, iridescent beetles, collar-studs, and toasting forks.”
