I've been observing law courts recently. I'm glad PM Burnham is not now reducing rights to trial by jury. However, no one seems to be talking about how the erosion of legal aid since 2010 has led to less criminal defence lawyers, meaning people representing themselves in court take huge extra time

The UK has probably the worst living standards on record with the future looking even worse &the Conservatives prioritise helping people on £100k+ with childcare support, cutting taxes, 'red tape,' scrapping the Environment Agency, Natural England, 'affordable homes' regs &more deregulation. 'Hope', fiscal rules & 'balancing the books' don't go together. Why is it so difficult to end the narrative that govts shouldn't/can't spend to invest in the public interest, which leads to economic multipliers bringing returns? And that it's not the duty of govt to redistribute wealth through tax?

Datacentre are being foisted on people living in low/medium income areas, not in wealthy areas. Resulting in excessive use of water, energy; pollution and environmental damage. Very few long-term jobs are generated. Watch the Minister's reply.
