U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1 trillion. Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed seven straight audits. This is the military industrial complex on steroids.

Do they think they’re doing it so Farage invests in infrastructure and public services? Ffs. Democracy being beaten to death in plain sight.

We see lots of people, rightly, condemn how ICE in America for waiting for people at immigration hearings to detain them, but we rarely hear about the fear so many people have of turning up to their reporting sessions in the UK with the Home Office and just being lifted then and there.
On October 1, as she went for her regular check in at the Home Office building in The Capital Building in Liverpool City Centre, Arjeta became nervous.
She recalls: "The lady was very cold with me. She asked me to wait for a few minutes while they updated my information, then a man came in and asked me to follow him, I knew I was going to be detained."

This Court now concludes that independent expenditures, including those made by corporations, do not give rise to corruption or the appearance of corruption. That speakers may have influence over or access to elected officials does not mean that those officials are corrupt. And the appearance of influence or access will not cause the electorate to lose faith in this democracy.
